"This property is wonderful. The only thing missing is a restaurant. It would be a lovely space to be able to sit out with lunch etc.
the staff is wonderful and the property felt secluded even being 5 min. from town. "
"If you want to get out and enjoy a nice, friendly and relaxing time away from the city, Julian is an excellent choice. Making Gold Rush Hotel your choice to stay a night or two or more would make it the Perfect choice.
Staff that included Becky, Valerie and Lisa made our second visit such a great time. Breakfast is excellent and the coffee is a perfect compliment.
The rooms could be a bit small for some. It is so peaceful and quiet you will not even think of the small room, if that was your first impression.
Being our second visit, this time guaranteed we would be booking again in the near future.
You will not go wrong choosing this place for a nice quiet time in the mountains. "
"A veryy friendly individual allowed us to check in 15 minutes early. He told us we had "one of the nicest rooms". The good - .nice sized room, extremely comfortable bed, spotless bathroom with shower in a tub vs walk-in and Main Street was only a short block away. Neither good nor bad - old furniture similar to what might be found at a used furniture store. Not vintage just old including an upholstered wing-back chair that had seen better days and twor random choices of standard chairs situated in corners of the room. The bad - .extremely noisy air conditioner/heater (we finally turned it off). A public parking area immediately behind the hotel. It is directly outside the windows which we opened rather than endure the loud air conditioner/heater unit. The coffee provided with the machine was extremely bland. Otherr coffee was reportedly available in the lobby. Access to the lobby required traversing down a flight and a half of stairs and a bit of a walk. Annoying but not hugely significant - accessing the toilet paper roll while seated required an odd backward reach and good shoulder mobility. Similarly the step into the shower over the edge of the tub warranted caution as there was nothing to grip to steady oneself. We managed ok but it is worth noting only because those who are unsteady or physically a bit limited might find the process disconcerting. Also VERY annoying two remotes for the TV with no direction as to what each controlled. Overall 3 stars of 5"
"Hard to find, our room had floor lifting, bed slanted down, lounge outside was old and cushion needed replacing. The sound therapist Denise was wonderful. Internet was iffy and messages to staff seldom went through. Would not recommend. "
"Campground was easily accessible, the site was well maintained. No check-in was possible on Monday due to the office being closed, but our friends connected up with the camp host to let them know of our arrival.
Overall, the camping and use of amenities (showers, restrooms, etc.) was very nice. Restrooms and showers were clean."
"The view is very impressive and lodge itself is cozy with large kitchen with some necessities for breakfast.
The reason for I gave 3 stars is the mattress was awful. Soggy and old and really soft. Also the shower is unusable. Old shower head that sprinkles the water all over, but doesn't give a stream. So washing was a nightmare. Also the quality of shampoo and conditioner was really not good"
