"I’m so glad I chose the Portola Hotel for my stay in Monterey. After going back and forth between several hotel options, this one ended up being the perfect choice—and I’ll definitely be staying here every time I come back! The location is incredibly convenient—right in the heart of Monterey, walking distance to everything I wanted to explore. Parking was a breeze, and I used the valet service throughout my stay. It was quick, prompt, and made things so much easier. The hotel itself is extremely clean and well-maintained. My room was spotless, quiet, and the bed was super comfortable—I slept so well each night. Housekeeping did a fantastic job every day, keeping everything fresh and tidy without ever being intrusive. Overall, the Portola Hotel provided a relaxing, hassle-free experience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Monterey! "

"I liked everything about this property. There was great food options near by and walkable distance. The rooms were suuuper cool and comfy. There was a pool and tub, my son loved that! It was quiet and we had our privacy for sure. Definitely recommend this place. There wasn’t complementary breakfast, however, the price was low and reasonable. "

The staff at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful and they made us all very comfortable and happy to stay at the Carmel Mission Inn. "“Old style” Hotel, right in the middle of town, so much to do and see. Great restaurants right next to the hotel, I chose to park across the street, in the public parking structure, easy in and out. The room was basic but clean, very small tv, clean sheets, bathroom was small but clean and nice. No complaints at all, it’s priced right, for what you get, in this area. "

"The outside looks older, but the inside looked like a new studio apartment. Great lighting, comfortable bed, and quiet. No pool, but they have a dog park area. "
