"Warm welcome on arrival, nice clean comfy room with a sea view. The hotel is in a great location across the road from the beach and a one minute walk from Torbay Road with the shops and places to eat. We had the evening meal in the hotel which was lovely and a great price also the breakfast was very nice the next morning. Would stay here again."

"Taunting by tall Irish boy bar waiter when I arrived and loud yelling near my room and stalking at night!! My room had leaking shower and dripping toilet noises and doors shook and windows too. No still water for two weeks! No salt and pepper on dining table in bar lounge. No air conditioning and not allowed to open terrace doors or windows! Interrupted my shower trying to make me check out an hour early!! The manicure was poorly made and not finished properly and my massage did nothing for my back pain !! No porter service for my luggage and had to beg for help and I have injured hands!! My taxi was 30 minutes late and almost missed my train!! No answer to my phone calls to front desk waiting for 10 minutes for an answer!!! The furniture upholstery is peeling off and cobwebs in the ceiling of bar lounge!! This wreaks of discrimination against American citizens and disabled women!!! I will never ever stay there again even though my cousin’s mother worked there in the early 1900s!!!"

"Easy walking distance to Plymouth Train Station, and within walking distance of the waterfront area. Good towels/linens. Decent room size. One thing to keep in mind is that the rooms are NOT air conditioned and the windows barely open two inches. There is a ceiling fan and a small electric fan however. Wouldn’t want to be there during any kind of heat wave."

"Stayed here many times previously. Excellent stay again no issues. Little disappointed with the check in guy who stated I had been given a complimentary upgrade to an executive room. This was not the case and it was a standard room. Why lie? I’m not a novice traveller. Quite frankly I could not be bothered to complain . Smoking area outside the bar was in a terrible state! It was dirty disgusting with lots of rubbish inc broken bottles and glasses. Ashtrays were brimful and hadn’t been emptied for ages. Chris and all his colleagues at breakfast were fantastic. Totally professional helpful and in good vibes."

"Room was just below penthouse restaurant, noise all the way through till 11.30pm had a 7 month old baby refusing to sleep due to noise. Room was 25⁰ it was so hot and the very minimal window opening was not sufficient. Breakfast was amazing as expected. Pool was nice too, staff amazing they are a credit to the hotel."
