"Spacious cabin.Bur the Gas had run out so we had No Hot water or able to use the stove top.Very disappointing considering we had paid $248.50 for the night. The caretaker really didn't care. His response was its out of our control when the gas runs out.No offer for any compensation.."
"It is just a room with a bed and a chair there is no ammenities, the toilet, shower are communal which was not described in the description, there is no fridge that you can use for food or drinks, basically it’s a place to sleep nothing else, if I knew this earlier would of opted to stay at a caravan park for a fraction of the price. Disappointing to say the least"
"It’s an excellent location to stay for visiting Springbrook - most major trails/lookouts and cafes are a few minutes drive away. The floor, kitchen, bathroom, bed, couches and tables were very clean; instant coffee, tea and milk was provided in the cabin, and the kitchen was helpful (essential) for the night when the cafes are all closed. The receptionist Greg had a full introduction with us about Springbrook trails and cafes, which was nice and helpful for visiting those places. The cabin (we stayed in Rosella) is surrounded by trees, the forest and we really appreciated the private feeling which cannot be disturbed by anyone. We went there when it wasn’t too cold so we didn’t mind the fireplace (heater) wasn’t heating up the room much (can only feel the warmth where you stand very close.) "
"First of all the location is excellent… right in the middle of the rainforest, although the drive up there is not for the faint hearted. My room was very basic, which was expected. The thing I didn’t like was that the door to the deck didn’t seal at all, so when the wind blew at night it rattled the blinds and kept me awake. Parking spots are very tight for even a modest size car. Food options were limited and expensive. If you are not in a self catering unit you run out of choices quickly. I didn’t do too many activities but the e-bike ride and the morning bird watch were great. I did several solo hikes which were also great. The view of the stars at night was stunning."
"Hillcrest Mountain View Retreat is a hidden sanctuary. We hit the jackpot when we were searching for accommodation in the area to attend a wedding. Its location is nothing short of spectacular and the 360 views are breathtaking. Hosts Craig and Paul were so warm and welcoming, and a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Our room had such a comfortable bed with everything we needed and many more extras. The deck was made for unwinding with a daybed and hammock inviting you to linger and recharge, while absorbing Nature all around you. There was a lovely sitting room, dining area, a well-stocked library, and swimming pool (which we didn’t have time to swim in). It was therapy just being there, including the collection of art and artefacts. One of the highlights was breakfast, with a menu that you wanted to stay a week to sample chef Paul’s culinary delights.
As we’d only booked one night, leaving was hard, knowing there was so much more. However it gives us a reason to return because we left wanting more. "
