Hotels near Moore Creek Wildlife Preserve

"Really don’t know how it got a “wonderful” overall rating on hotels.com… it is a very dated, kind of damp and dingy place. Some upgrades have been made, like new headboard and media console, but the rug is dingy and dark, the bathroom and shower had cracked tiles that were attempted to be recaulked, and the walls and floors let all the sound in from the other rooms and outdoor hallway. The window overlooking the pool had condensation all over it… we were on the 2nd floor so not sure why the condensation. I get it, the salty air doesn’t help keep buildings nice, it wears them down faster. But wish the ratings actually reflected reality, so we had known what we were getting into. The guy at front desk was pretty abrupt and didn’t give us any info on the building. I asked if he thought there was parking further back in the lot, instead of where I was parked near the parking lot entrance and street… he didn’t check or think twice, he said “keep your car there” but when I walked to our room, there were several spots (seemly safer spots as they would have been away from the general road more). The woman at the front desk the next morning was friendly. Overall this place is a solid 2-star hotel. It’s not a diamond in the rough or a hidden gem. "

"Towels and bed sheets seemed either old or dirty. Couldn’t tell if the sheets were actually changed prior to our arrival and pillow cases looked old/yellowish. Some towels didn’t seem to be washed very well as it had earwax mark and make up stains on them."

"Easy to find, a lot of construction workers staying there. There multiple places where there was vomit in the parking lot. The rooms were clean but you can hear everything from the other rooms. As a family I will not be staying there again. "

"Breakfast was cool. Just no non pork options for meat. Also didn't like that ice machine wasn't on first floor. There were no signs that indicated this so upon asking had to travel to upper floors for ice. Other then these thing, everything else was awesome "

"The beach view was AWESOME. Deck was gorgeous. Staff was super nice. Parking was easy. Our neighbors the first two nights was super loud and kinda wild, and the walls are thin, but a manager offered to give us a different room, which was extremely nice. We wound up staying, and they chilled out, ultimately. We were able to bring our dog, it was a super easy walk to the boardwalk, and you basically fall out onto the beach. We’ll absolutely be back! 💕"

"Our room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was extremely crowded however it was Spring Break for a lot of people. We love how everything we needed was within walking distance. "
