Not bad for a cheap place to stay. It is located right in the middle of Montreal’s nightlife district, so there are plenty of great places to eat and drink and people watching if you don’t mind a bit of noise at night.

I booked this in a rush without looking too deeply at other reviews. After a 3 day stay I can say the location and price are the main attraction, and the staff are helpful, but everything else is just poor quality. I experienced similar issues that I know see many other reviews have pointed out: old rundown building with funky smells in the stairwell, homeless people sitting on or near the entrance, fairly noisy at points during the night and can hear your neighbors, hairs on the bed and some light stains on the blanket/cover provided, broken toilet paper holder, and the list goes on. If you absolutely need a place to stay short term and not spending alot of time in the room, you can make it work. But I wouldn't recommend staying any longer then a long weekend if possible. I also highly suggest upgrading to a room with a private bathroom like I did.

I booked this hotel for a stay with family as it appeared under family friendly search. But this hotel is right next to a shop with "sex shop" sign and there are few strip clubs just nearby. Don't book for family stay - this is right in the middle of adult entertainment zone.

This property is much more if a hostel than a hotel. Many rooms do not have bathrooms. The rooms are small and poorly laid out. We had a room with two beds. The door hit.the bed when opening and you had to walk into the corner of the room to close the door as access to the room was blocked by the open door. The floors are very uneven as as the stairs up to the upper levels of the hotel. We were originally planning a three night stay but left after the first night. The staff were definitely the bright spot. They were very understanding, helpful and kind.

The location is pretty great. There are plenty of food stores around and more. I’m just concerned about the entrance before the lobby, though you can’t get in the lobby without buzzing in the entrance is an open door so anyone can just get in and stay on the stairs. That stairs area also has a strong smell of piss. Also since it’s a shared bathroom I noticed that some bathrooms don’t have ventilation. And bathrooms don’t have hand wash soap. Some of the things are also outdated. Some pictures showed in the website doesn’t look the same in person, such as having plants and other things. These are just my observations and experienced. One thing I can vouch though is that they have great staff, very friendly and helpful.

It was actually pretty good for what it is. I was impressed with the cleanliness. I would say that the mattresses should be updated. They were very cheap and uncomfortable. They also could have moved the furniture around so that the television is at the foot of the bed and viewable to both people in the room and lastly...... clean up and repaint that damn stairway. Stayed for 3 days with my children ages 6-11yrs, and it perfectly suited our needs for an affordable and comfortable stay in an excellent location. Comfortable, no-frills room with cable and A/C. Steps away from Place des Arts where we could see the Lion King, and amazing shopping. Less then 2min from the metro, easily getting us to wherever we needed to go, including a day spent out at Olympic Park. A quick 15min walk down the street to the Old Port and tonnes of fun, as well as walks through the vibrant and quaint Old Montréal. Yes, the entrance is beside a sex shop. Yes, there are some unhoused people in the area. We are from Toronto and are used to these things, which you will see in any downtown of a large city. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there is a complementary continental breakfast that my picky eaters managed to find enough to eat at, so huge bonus for us! The site is NOT accessible - you may have to carry luggage up a few flights of stairs - but this was not an issue for us. If you are looking for a budget stay in a very good location that is close to all the things, and don't nind some stairs, this is a great one!

The hotel needs a lot of work. Our toilet seat and bathroom mirror were broken, the window screen was torn off and one window was open with window air conditioner on; we discovered this on day 2. Windows and ac were dirty, mattress cover was ripped and pillows were dirty. There was 1 coffee cup, 2 glasses and 1 plate in the kitchen. The “breakfast” consisted of coffee, toast and 3 types of dry cereals. The carpet into the lobby was dirty and worn. The sheets, bathroom and kitchen were clean, and staff was attentive and friendly.

The only real thing good was location to downtown and metro trying to get to hotel was crazy with roads blocked off that gps took us to luckily I brought a ionizer because the room had a weird smell most of people at desk were nice but one gentleman with glasses was trying to throw my adult son out that was traveling with me he harassed him like he was an intruder I only wished he had told me at the time the pigeons living out side my window were like an alarm clock and use caution if you go out on terrace I went over to railing and it almost collapsed I understand it was a high demand week with the Grand Prix but over $1000 for 4 nights here was crazy next year I will pay a higher price for a nicer hotel with amenities if you can I’d recommend doing it
