"Lovely quirky old hotel but bathroom layout poor, could do with removing bath and putting a shower only, it would be much safer. Reception lady at 2pm was very abrupt and just said “check in not till 3” we only wanted to let her know we had parked in the patrons only car park. Breakfast staff and checking out lady, lovely."

"A lovely place to stay, spotlessly clean and great service. Great food in the bar and all very reasonably priced. Becky in housekeeping provided excellent service in the rooms. It was an ideal place to stay with easy access to Hay and to the cafe in the airstrip. We will return if we go back that way again."

"Had a one night stop over stay here, the accommodation was spotless and the bed was super comfy. Spent the evening in the pub, which is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. We didn't have a meal but did order a cheesecake which was absolutely delicious. All the staff were friendly, warm and inviting and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. "Location wise the hotel is ideally situated in the centre of town and has its own car park. The car park is tight to navigate, however any vaguely competent driver will be able to cope with it. The hotel certainly is in need of some sprucing up, the decor and furniture (with the exception of the bed) look like they've been there since the 80s or 90s. There were shoddy repair jobs on the bath/shower with excessive sealant bunged on, and the laminate on the bathroom mirror frame had mostly...

"We were walking the Shropshire Way and the White Horse was a nice place to fall into at the end of a long day's walk. The food was wholesome and the bedroom was quiet and comfortable. The bar area was popular with locals celebrating a football match win and this lasted until around 10:00 pm when it all subsided into a gentle placidity. The breakfast in particular was delicious."

"An area of the bedroom carpet was very wet and we had to stand on it when accessing the wardrobe and when passing through the door. This was especially unpleasant during the night. The carpet showed no signs of drying out so the possible cause was a drainage leak from the adjacent shower room. The communal rubbish bins, located in the car park directly below the flats were overflowing with bagged and unbagged household rubbish dumped in many areas. It was likely that vermin would be attracted...

"Lovely cabin, equipped with everything we needed for a couple of nights. No towels, but we knew that as communication beforehand was really good. The area is lovely, with horses on the premises and great walking around."
