"We got the cheap studio with the sofa beds that dont have such great reviews. However, we turned them around and put them together to make a big bed. They were quite comfortable and the sheets and pillows were good quality. Very satisfied. The only issue was that there was no dish soap in the kitchen. The balcony had great views of the village and the beach. We were facing west, and had a lovely sunset. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend the restaurant called Bellmonte next...

"I had read some bad reviews about this property but I thought it was excellent! Nice, quiet, comfortable room and bed, great helpful staff and a lovely breakfast each day. Walkable to the beach and amenities in 5-10mins. Easy free parking (I stayed in April/May but from 1st June to 1st September I was told that is when the parking is chargeable). If you want entertainment and a party destination, go to Albufeira. If you want a relaxed and chilled place, Monte Gordo is great and so is this hotel....

"I liked that the staff spoke English Spanish and Portuguese. We chose this property because we wanted to use the Spa. This feature is in their name. The Spa was closed during the time we were at the hotel. Very disappointing. :-("

"Terribly disappointing hotel. For a 4-star , among the 5 most expensive, the value for money ratio was terrible. In a 2 bedroom suite, the second bed was a fold out, with a ratty mattress. In one-week stay, sheets and towels were changed once, floors cleaned twice. They could not provide me with a water kettle or early coffee (coffee shop opens at nine). Breakfast and lunch buffet were uninspired and certainly not fit for a vegetarian or someone with dietary needs. At “pick” hours, one could...
