"This is a top notch property with a top notch staff. From Ariela and Daniella in the front office to the dining team, it was a phenomenal experience. OPacifico Hotel Boutique, Paquera, Costa Rica is a must stay!"

"The room and facilities were clean, my only complaint would be the area itself, out of control of the hotel. There was someone sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hotel when we arrived and there really isn’t much to offer in the area. We only stopped for the night to catch the ferry the next day and thought that there would be more to see. "

" One hour into breakfast, there was very limited fruit, granola. The staff did not restock and I felt badly for those customers who arrived in the next 2 hours. This was experienced both days. At dinner, the servers never came to check on us, ask if we needed anything, how our food was. We found them to be quite curt and not customer focused. Housekeeping and gardeners A+; reception desk staff varied depending on who was working."

"I knew this place wasn't going to be great but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I was traveling with my three daughters and the door to our ground floor unit wouldn't properly lock. The inside has moldy ceilings, broken things in the kitchen, filthy bathroom, the knob to the hot water in the shower was completely gone. The AC couldn't keep up so we were sweating all night. Then in the middle of the night the loudest DJ/pool music came on to wake us up. It happened three times between 2-4 am even after I repeatedly asked the front desk to solve the issue. When we got there they said the pool was closed (at 5pm?) but someone was loudly swimming later for over an hour. It was a quick night stopover on our road trip but we left miserable and tired and uncomfortable. We are pretty flexible travelers and stay in cheap places regularly but this was awful. "

"Fabulous place, beach and sun. National Park (refuge faunique national Curú) is so nice, see the beach. Breakfast and diner are very good. The best place during our travel across costa rica."

"We had an amazing stay at Fuego Lodge in Santa Teresa and would absolutely recommend it! The property is incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made it feel comfortable and relaxing right from the start. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Santa Teresa—so everything you need is close by. It’s also just a quick 2-minute walk to Lifeguards Gym, which was a huge bonus for us. The staff were truly outstanding—super friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. They really made the experience feel personal. The pool area is beautiful and a great place to unwind, surrounded by lush vegetation that gives the whole place a peaceful jungle vibe. It feels like a little oasis. My wife and I have traveled all over the world and both agreed this was one of the coolest places we have ever stayed at! Breakfast each morning was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, plus a great coffee and tea station to start the day right. Overall, a 5-star experience—we’d definitely stay here again"

"The electricity went out. They need solar lights along the gravel path leading to the bungalows. I tripped over the speed bump on the path and my injuries effected my entire trip. Perfectly avoidable."

"We went for the standard room but it was beautiful and spacious and very clean. They came twice a day to service the rooms and did a wonderful job. The pool is the best we have ever experienced… always a lovely temperature and great design. Areas for improvement: more sun beds around the pool (a couple of times there were none available) and yoga should be included free of charge for guests. Every other hotel we stayed in during our trip had this included - when you pay a lot for the room you don’t expect to be charged for these services. "
