Hotel Alphubel Zermatt

10/10 Excellent

"This is a two star hotel, but the quality at which it is kept makes it feel as though it is much, much better! Seriously happy with this hotel, very clean, close to everything (as every hotel in Zermatt is), good water pressure and hot water. Breakfast is good, although if you like bacon/eggs/sausage there isn’t any except some eggs which you have to boil yourself. Other than that there was a wide variety of bread and pretzels, yoghurts, ham, cheese and cereal and some fruit. For the price paid and the prices of other hotels, this is a great choice! The rooms, however, don’t have air con so you rely on cool air coming through."

"I loved this hotel. I was travelling solo and booked the room for a solo that was their smallest option. This ended up being one of my favourite booked hotel rooms ever. Although designed for a solo traveller, the design was brilliant. It was amazingly cozy. It was easy to unpack and not have anything to trip over. The decor was inviting and perfect. Having a window seat with a fantastic view was amazing. Food was great. I could rave and rave about this hotel. I might add that the location was unbelievable. You could easily step outside the door and see the Matterhorn. But you are very close to the train station. I would go back in a heartbeat."

"Beautiful classic hotel! Breakfast was pretty good! One thing that stands out are the staff, all of them were fantastic! I would definitely come back and stay here again. Plus, bonus the view of the majestic Matterhorn all the time and especially when you wake up! Thank you so much for giving me and my sister a wonderful stay! For the beautiful people of Hotel Monte Rosa, you guys rock!"

"The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from the main station. It’s clean, offers minimal amenities, and has a great breakfast. Unfortunately, my stay ended on a very negative note. On my last night, I was locked out of my room after reception had closed. There was no visible emergency contact at the front desk, and if one exists, it certainly wasn’t made clear. I tried reaching out via Expedia chat and WhatsApp, but received no response, even while writing this review. As a result, I had no choice but to spend the night sleeping on the sofa in the reception area until staff returned in the morning. It was an extremely frustrating and uncomfortable experience. At the very least, the hotel should provide a clearly visible 24-hour emergency contact for situations like this."

"Everything about the Beausite was perfect. Staff very attentive and friendly. The extras are appreciated-- the slippers, robes, ski locker room (heated for drying out gear), saunas were fabulous. The treats in the room each day were so nice as well. Breakfast buffet was excellent-- I am a tea drinker and loved the tea station. Thank you for an excellent stay!"
