"This was misleading advertising on Hotels.com. I selected a tent with 2 queen beds and a bunk bed for about R1700. Just before we arrived I got a call from the hosts and let them know that 2 friends would arrive 30 minutes before us. I was told that I would have to pay an additional R790 for them because they charge extra each person over 2. This was not made clear on the app. This accommodation was not worth over R2,500 for the night. Unhappy guests who feel ripped off."

"Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve in Plettenberg Bay is truly a hidden gem! The views are absolutely breathtaking, offering panoramic scenery of the mountains, ocean, and lush nature. Waking up to such a stunning landscape is an experience in itself. The host is incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels at home. And a special mention goes to the friendly resident dog, who will happily greet you upon arrival and is always up for some scratches! The accommodations are comfortable, well-maintained, and provide a peaceful escape into nature. If you’re looking for a serene getaway with unbeatable views and warm hospitality, Alkantmooi is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommend!"

"Absolutely fantastic stay with our 1 year old. The location is excellent, nice and secluded surrounded by breathtaking scenery and extensive lawns. Short drive to the local attractions. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more welcoming providing flawless service. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite which is perfect for families for a separate bedroom for children. "

"The property stated that there was a reception open from 7am-9pm. There is not. They were supposed to send me a message with the code for the key box. They did not. The security there were very kind in helping us contact them as the number on the site was wrong. There was no power the night we stayed there. Not at fault of the property but regardless this and the check in process left us not having the night we were hoping for. Also there was no laundry detergent if you are planning to make use of the laundry. The positives is the beach. A short walk there is the beach where we watched dolphins surf the waves."

"The property is like stepping into a luxurious game lodge from a bygone age yet you’re only 15 minutes from the town of Plettenberg and about 5 minutes to a wonderful stretch of beach just down the hill. However the facility itself is nearly new so it features all the modern conveniences to be had. Architects and interior designers will be fascinated by the attention to detail that went into the construction of this lodge. The grounds are extensive and include a horse stable and several paths, providing plenty of opportunity to take in some casual exercise in a wonderful secluded environment. The proprietors and staff were incredibly warm and friendly and the advice given made sure we got the most out of our 2 days there. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the Crags. "
