"About 8 mins walk from local train station. Whole place is so well decorated. Feels dreamy with Ghibli's soundtracks mildly played. The owner speaks great English. Everything is clean and efficient. I stayed in a dorm of 4. The room itself might be a bit small if you have big suitcase. But the space was fair enough for me. Top floor is where you can hang the laundries. You can see Kumamoto castle from there. Overall it was a great stay. Also great value for money."

"It almost felt like I was staying with a host family rather than a hostel. The hosts are so nice and speak English very well and had tons of amazing recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Breakfast each morning was especially nice and very traditional. Walkable to downtown and the bus station and very clean. Thanks for an amazing stay!"

"I loved staying at this hostel, as it had an awesome vibe. The hostel and town were like something out of Totoro. It is a nice quaint area and the hostel embodies this. The staff and owner bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. It was during the world cup, so they put all the games up on a projector. "We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. Nearly perfect
"Almost a perfect stay! I’d say everything is good, the parking, room condition, cleaniness is fine. Location is wonderful, 3 minutes walk to Sakura Machi, where my kids spent nearly whole day to play around. However, the breakfast can be improved, first thing the seat vacant is not enough, got crowded when i started my breakfast at around 8:30, and food choice could be more. Other than that I strongly recommend!!"
