Tenaya at Yosemite

"We recently stayed in the Cottage King & Queen Suite at Tenaya and overall enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect for Yosemite, and the resort has so much potential. The beautiful layout, welcoming lobby with live music, fast check-in, and fun onsite activities made our family vacation memorable. However, check-in felt transactional, and it would have been nice if staff highlighted the resort's amenities. The game room was a highlight, though it could use air conditioning. We also enjoyed the nightly s'mores, but limiting families to one roasting stick took away from the experience. The guest room was the biggest disappointment. The suite is overdue for renovation. Both mattresses were lopsided, the "queen" bed was actually the size of a double, the carpets were dirty, and the loud AC made sleeping difficult. Dining was inconsistent. At Jackalope's, a $22 egg white veggie omelet came with only bread and fruit—no potatoes—while the buffet was only $25. The French toast was underwhelming, with warm cream cheese and mushy strawberries. At Timberloft Pizzeria, we waited 20 minutes before learning we had to order first. My Caesar salad had cold, partially thawed chicken and stale croutons, though the pizza and wings were good. Despite these shortcomings, we looked past the flaws because the location and onsite activities made our Yosemite trip memorable. With updated rooms, better food, and improved service, Tenaya could be an outstanding resort."

"We chose this location due to the proximity to Yosemite. We prefer to stay in the park, but everything was already full when we looked into reservations. This was a great alternate. It was only about 15 minutes from the Western entrance and was easy to find. It was right across from the river with private acess, which we did not use, but did go visit one night. The room was clean and very spacious. The bed was comfortable, although the sheets were very thin and not soft. In fact, we didn't have a fitted sheet, so my husband found himself tangled a bit in them the first night. It's not a particularly fancy motel, but we knew that when we booked it. It provided for us all that we needed. Even with what seemed to be a large number of people staying at the motel, it was still quiet for us at night."

"This was a fun good place to stay. We really enjoyed it. It had a convenient bus stop that was a ten minute walk and we were able to hop on a bus to Yosemite. The place had many options from a tent to a beautifully decorated room with a bathroom. So you can determine how much you want to rough it. I would stay again in a heartbeat."

"I had a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the wonderful lady who welcomed me, and I sincerely apologize for that. However, I will always remember how kind, caring, helpful, and available she was throughout my stay. A heartfelt thank you to her for making my experience so enjoyable. It truly made all the difference."
