The breakfast is excellent, highly recommended.
The rooms are decent — not great, not bad.
The taxi service was bad — very expensive, more than three times what a normal taxi costs in Mexico City, and the hotel didn’t seem to have any desire to control costs or hold the drivers accountable for price-gauging their clients.
Everything was great, the location was the best, the majority of the places I like to visit are walking distance. The only thing I did not like was the sewer smell, it was outside but sometimes you could smell it at the lobby. The elevator takes so long to arrive, even when the hotel have three of them. But other than that, it was great, I will reserve again in my next visit to the majestic CDMX. And I will recommend this hotel to my friends, family and everyone who want to visit CDMX.
The staff was very nice always, the room. Was spacious and very homey the views were spectacular i enjoyed the location very close to everythi g and the meyrobus as well. I will book hete again
One of the best locations in Mexico City. Very nice view from top of the building. Very good food at dinner. City historical center is just outside. Metro transportation stations are just outside. Service persons are very friendly and helpful.
This was the 5th time staying here and oh boy they really do not care about their repeat guests. The room was missing some cleaning items that I had to request upon my arrival. The AC was not working properly. Housekeeping staff were nice, however one of the times they did not take out the trash only the restroom one. In addition, I did no receive any benefit from being part of the Expedia Program.
Positive Things: Great Location, the room size is good. Housekeeping and Bellboy staff are nice and kind.
I’m going back in a few weeks, since I already booked the stay a couple of months ago so I hope they get better.

Great location. The rooms are ok. Our room was spacious, facing Paseo de la Reforma street, noise level was tolerable. We had a couple of issues with our room, there was no hand soap, blow dryer did not work, they come to do your bed but they do not sweep nor mop, shower curtain was very high and all the water wet the bathroom, there was not a single hanger in the closet. Beds are too hard. It is a basic hotel for just sleeping.
Hotel is well located, has a good restaurant with excellent views and ambiance, rooms have great views and are comfortable and clean. No issues. Didn't see parking but didn't need it.
Bathroom could use remodeling. Old outdated shower. Otherwise, clean room, excellent housekeeping. Very, very overall experience. Second stay here at Fontan, will stay here again.
Everyone was very kind and hospitable. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Loved the architecture (&murals), inside decor and rooftop restaurants. Getting an uber was difficult due to construction. On my 2nd full day stay, I did not get cleaning service. The lighting in the bathroom is terribly dark, and no makeup mirror. A solid soap would be appreciated. Thx
The staff and location amazing. I think the only thing that kind of ruined the stay, was food, food was extremely expensive and bad quality, especially for a city with so many options. I tried breakfast, and next day gave another chance for dinner, totally disappointed on both. I think it is a big chance to improve if not on price, but on food quality, at least.
Rooms are nice, great roof top to dine.
I gave this Hotel 4 stars
Because I was not given room service for cleaning.
I asked the cleaning person to please clean my room, cleaning person said she would clean it in 30 minutes but never came by.
I also requested to have the AC fixed, it was not throwing cold air.
AC was never repaired.
All in all it was a wonderful stay. The hotel and the room itself were really nice, clean, spacious and pretty. The location is perfect for visiting Mexico City.
The only criticism I have is, when booking the room, in the pictures of the room, sold as a city view upgrade, for the view, a room with a huge panoramIc window with balcony was shown. In the end the room we got had a small window, and in that case we could have booked a cheaper version. I think the pictures were a little misleading. It would have been great if a photo of the other room with the smaller window was shown in the booking process too.
Nevertheless, still a great stay, great hotel, great room.
Room size and location were good. The smell in the room though was pretty bad. Not sure if it was freshly painted, but it was very strong. Personal was attentive as well. Not sure if the roof top restaurant is part of the hotel or not, but the service was terrible. We waited 25 minutes for someone to bring us a menu, the table we were sat at was all dirty…we ended up not staying there. For the location I would stay there again, but with all due respect this is not a 4 stars hotel.
We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The staff was very professional, and well educated, and we felt safe throughout our stay.
When we arrived, we were initially assigned a room on the 12th floor, but due to the altitude we didn’t feel well. We spoke with the front desk, and they kindly moved us to a lower floor.
The room was good and the mattress was very comfortable; however, the cleaning could have been better.
I paid in advance for breakfast, which was buffet-style but this wasn’t expecified when I made the reservation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed considering the price—it could have been much better. The food did not feel fresh. I even tried to cancel the breakfast, but since the reservation was made through Expedia, it doesn’t allowed me to cancel it. They offered me à la carte breakfast for one day, but when I arrived at the breakfast area, the staff had not been informed, and I couldn’t use it. I didn’t pursue the issue further because I wanted to enjoy my trip. I contacted Expedia afterward, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.
Another downside was that the terrace was closed due to renovations, and I was not notified in advance. It remained closed for the entire duration of my stay. The restaurant was also under renovation, so breakfast was served in a temporary salon.
Overall, despite these issues, the staff was genuinely very nice.
Very nice hotel, excellent location, superb rooftop option, very nice staff, surprisingly, no noise whatsoever from the main street, the water purificator in the hall for cold and hot water is an amazing touch and benefit!
Things we didn't like:
Only one hanger for a towel in the bathroom - annoying and would be so easy to fix. We had a room in the 5th floor with a view to an ugly concrete wall. The floor in the room is cheap plastic. Very poor noise isolation from the hallway.
