Please is spotless, with great hospitality and very nice staff that is always there to help and answer any questions you may have. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. "We loved our stay here. The views are spectacular from all areas of the property. The road up to the b&b is tricky to drive but you are rewarded when you get there so it's totally worth it! We loved the pool, quite chilly but we stayed in August when the weather called for a nice chill dip. Sitting at the edge of that pool looking out over the valley was breathtaking. There is a lovely communal balcony area to relax in the evening, or enjoy breakfast on. We liked that there were not many people there, only around 5 rooms so quite quiet, and the staff go home at night. Breakfast was simple but fine for what we wanted., and you can bring your own food to keep in the fridge in the communal areas, where there is a fully stocked kitchen and lounge to relax in. We felt welcomed and there was always wine and port to try made by the vineyard on the estate which is fab! The room was perfect, great air con, ours was very private (we had read that some rooms have an open toilet which we did see in the other rooms on the top floor so maybe if this isn't something you would like, request one on the lower floor). Th bed was comfy, felt very luxurious with branded pillows and towels, and a balcony to look out from. I would have liked a chair or two outside ideally to make the most of the balcony and to dry towels and things. It was honestly wonderful and I would absolutely stay again!"

"Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. We checked in early and were able to use the pool which has a great view of the valley. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Having our breakfast brought to us in the morning was excellent. I would highly recommend booking here if you want to relax however make sure you have taxis booked or a rental car as it is not walkable from the train station."

"The Vintage House is a beautiful hotel located conveniently on the banks of the Douro River where the tour boats depart. The rooms are very well appointed and the entire hotel ,pool and grounds are wonderfully maintained. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the dining staff on the outdoor terrace provided very attentive service. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the menu for lunch and dinner had a great selection of food & wine. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel and would highly recommend it to others."
