"I recently stayed at Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square and overall, the experience was not terrible, but there were several frustrating issues. The rooms were much smaller than expected, and the hallways were extremely narrow—you can hear almost everything from neighboring rooms, which made it hard to relax. The lobby was another major downside. It had a strong unpleasant smell at all times of the day and was constantly crowded, often with 20+ people sitting around, making it feel chaotic and overwhelming. The elevators were also a big inconvenience. They were very slow and almost always occupied by large groups, so we often had to use the stairs to go up or down (even to the third floor). The elevator system itself is confusing—you press a button, but you’re never quite sure which elevator will arrive or when. Check-in was especially frustrating. We were told that an adult (21+) needed to check in a 19-year-old guest at 3 PM. However, when the 19-year-old returned to check in, staff then said the adult had to be physically present again. By that point, the adult had already left and couldn’t return for several hours. After traveling for three hours, this back-and-forth was exhausting and poorly handled. Overall, the hotel isn’t terrible, but it feels crowded, disorganized, and not very accommodating. It reminded me more of a budget hotel experience than what I expected."

"Gorgeous design, great restaurant downstairs, no real amenities. A bit farther from subway than I usually like, but design was worth it."

"Room was clean, staff was attentive and kind, housekeeping came quick. The only issue we had was the elevator. Took a very long time to get to our floor and when we were on it it would open on random floors and no one was there. "

"Very clean and comfortable. Everything you need for a place to come back to and sleep in NYC. Another plus is they have a luggage hold after check out if your train/flight isn’t until later. Overall, a great stay and would stay again. "

"It was a great stay for my family. The room we had was a little small square footage wise for a double room but it still wasnt terrible we enjoyed our stay."

"The hotel was difficult to find, as it is set back within a shopping center. Parking is very expensive and in a parking garage two blocks away. The area is extremely crowded, homeless individuals and marijuana smoking right outside the door. The rooms were clean and looked recently updated but very small with no table or storage for suitcases. Restaurants nearby."
