"The property is extraordinary. The rooms are large, comfortable, and very tastefully decorated. The view of the Duoro Valley from our room and from the entire property really are magical. It would be hard to imagine a more beautiful setting. The common kitchen, with Honor Bar, is a great convenience. The dining room is tastefully austere ( some quiet background music would warm things up). Throughout the property are many comfortable private areas to relax both inside and out. The beautiful infinity pool is a major attraction, and due to the isolation of the property, a very key feature. In late October we were unable to enjoy it and it was missed… Breakfast was great, and the arranged dinner was very good, if not exceptional. Staffing was limited and this was notable at times. The challenge of the drive to the location cannot be overstated. The last few kilometers are on a very sketchy road and nerve-wracking. You will not want to go to Pinhao for dinner and drive back in the dark."

"I absolutely loved this property. Probably one of the better few that I have stayed at throughout all my traveling years in the United States and Europe. The rooms were so clean and so was the entire facility. The Continental breakfast was delicious with many choices to choose from. We ate at the restaurant every night we were there because the food was amazing. Why bother trying to find a place for dinner? We usually had lunch at the local restaurants. The owner had great port that they make themselves and was super friendly and very helpful. The little terrace we had with our room was private and so lovely to sit and have a glass of wine in the evening before dinner. Overall, highly recommend this place. Thank you!"

"A delightful historical villa, which has held its old charm with the decor and furnishings. A very homely feel with a goid continental style breakfast. Coffee machine provided both caffeine teddy and decaffeinated coffee. There was a very good selection of teas. In the heart of the small town; parking was on street and felt safe, even for the motorcycles."
