"It was a good place to stay and the price was better than most in that area. The staff were nice. The room was clean. We had a bed that seemed to have a broken foundation. When you sat at the head of the bed, the whole mattress tilted and you sunk down. We called about this and the front desk personnel said they were fully booked and she didn’t have any staff who could come look at the bed. We did use the pool and hot tub. There were some missing tiles in the hot tub on the bench, making it uncomfortable to sit on. The water could have been warmer. The pool was a popular spot, especially for the families with children."

"One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at, and I've stayed at at least least 100 hotels. You can tell that the owner really cares, every little detail was noticed and appreciated. The oasis area was spectacular, the breakfast was wonderful, staff was fabulous! I wish all Best Western hotels were like this one in Eureka, I would never stay anywhere else!!!"

"The entrance was a bit difficult for older patrons. Bathroom was tiny. Parking was good but across the street. Not sure if there was air conditioning but we didn’t need it. The body wash dispenser was empty and there was one light bulb in the bathroom that didn’t work so I asked for a remand fixed it. The free breakfast was a bit skimpy but would keep you from starving. The historical aspect was very interesting. Portraits of a lot of famous people who had stayed there in the past. All in all it was a charming place."

"Adorable cabin set in a redwood forest. Cabin was clean and comfortable. It was chili in the room when I first arrived and I had to call the front desk about heat. The electric heater on the wall took a while to heat up the space. Directions on where and how to use the heater in the room binder would be helpful and having it turned on for check in would make initial comfort and experience more inviting. Beautiful property and overall a great stay!"

"Room was quite comfortable, useful furniture (desk and lamp, good tv with remote, comfortable king bed. Generally looked very well-maintained, with none of the cracks and flaws I've often seen elsewhere. Staff was very professional and helpful. For example, I needed to leave at 4 a.m. to catch a plane and the night person took me over right on time. It is very convenient to the Arcata/Eureka airport (a 5 minute drive, 15 minute walk - though a staff member warned me about walking at night - "animals!" Convenient to Rte 101."
