"We loved the Ecolodge de Simal. It's really off the beaten track (quite literally so), but once you get there, the location is wonderful: right on the water. We were there for three nights. The food was plentiful, fresh, and tasty; the free activities (like a excursion en pirogue) was wonderful; the pool is chlorinated and clean; the rooms are rustic with open air bathrooms and toilets, but comfortable; the housekeeping good; the bar/restaurant staff friendly. "Very clean room and surroundings. Felt very comfortable. Beautiful beach. Though on windy days there was quite a lot of rubbish in the ocean. Reception staff could do with more training in communication and know how to welcome staff. The best part of my stay was the excellent food. Incredible variety, quality and always fresh. The servers and the chefs deserve a commendation."
