Very good location. Next to the Express Bus Terminal and the Matsumoto Train Station. Plenty of shops nearby eg. Daiso, McDonalds and of course the 7 eleven all within walking distance. Plentiful eateries as well.
Good free japanese food buffet for breakfast! The hotel is literally right next to Matsumoto Station. Good restaurants in neighborhood, easy 10-12 minute walk to Matsumoto Castle. The reason not 5 stars is cuz room is super small even for Japanese rooms or maybe it was the layout that made if feel smaller than the other hotels I stayed in.
It was a very busy hotel. The hotel staff were very helpful and amazing with our requests as well as our early arrival for storing the luggage for the afternoon. Well done!
This a clean and convenient property. Close to Matsumoto Station as well as things like a convenience and grocery stores. Not deluxe, but great if you’re on a budget,
The rooms were very clean and the location was excellent. We were a short walk from the train station and also a nice walk to the Matsumoto Castle. The only negative experience was the free breakfast which was styrofoam dinner trays, individually wrapped croissants and a Japanese style breakfast which we did not find appetising. We did not participate and ate elsewhere.
Wonderful stay with a good variety for breakfast. Location is very walkable to public transportation (3 mins), convenience stores, and restaurants. Grocery store is right across the street. Attractions are also close by (15-20 mins. walk). Room was cozy/tight with a little space for carry-on luggage. Beds have an extra firm mattress. Check-in/out was easy with friendly and polite staff available to greet and assist.
I understand Toyoko Inns are not five star luxury hotels but I was still a tiny bit disappointed at how basic the facilities were. The room was tiny but they made good use of the space. The breakfast buffet was very basic but decent and free so what can you expect? Ultimately, the hotel was cheap and it had a great location only a block from the main train station.
One tip, there is a food hall right in front called Tsunagu Yokocho. I knew about it from a YouTube video and I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was just steps away from our front door. It contains about ten or twelve little restaurants but unlike a food court like we might find in the US, each establishment has its own seating. The place is beautifully decorated with a lively, upbeat atmosphere. It turned out to be one of our best meals in Japan!
