"Nice and comfy room. Beautiful garden with many beautiful birds and other wildlife. Close to the beach. Plus is for the distance to Galle Road (which is very noisy). The dinner was good, but far from great. The curry’s are way to salty. Same as for the breakfast (don’t try the chocolate pancakes). Beautiful place and very friendly staff. - Big minus for the hotels own landfill that you see if you take a walk outside the fences. They should really clean that up. Not ok! "

"Stayed for two weeks in September 2023. For starters, the host family at Talalla Freedom are wonderful. Helpful, friendly, adjusted to my food allergies, went over and beyond. Rs 250 for a pot of fresh tea. The pool is lovely and well kept, the view and access to Talalla beach is phenomenal (as long as you don't have any mobility issues. Beds are Sri Lanka firm but comfy. Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa

10/10 Excellent

"We're a New Zealand family of four living in the UAE and stayed for eight nights in mid October. We had a fantastic holiday and would happily return. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the traditional Sri Lankan welcome dance was a lovely touch. All rooms face the ocean. Our spacious rooms had great views of the beach and pools, comfortable beds, good bathrooms and excellent air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of variety, fresh fruit, juices, an omelette station, French toast and bacon. The pools were clean, with food and drinks delivered poolside, although the water was quite warm. The gym was well equipped for a resort. Surf lessons directly outside the hotel were great value at LKR 4,000 per person for 1 hr and 15 min. Our boys loved them and surfed every day. We enjoyed the beachfront Surf's Up restaurant, and the Weligama Kitchen buffet at LKR 9,500 per person. Hotel dining and excursions can be expensive, so compare prices with local alternatives. October brought some rain, but it was warm and the showers didn't stop us enjoying our stay. Useful tips: ATMs are across the road, local restaurants are within walking distance, and a cheap tuktuk to town cost around LKR 500. Overall, the beachfront location, excellent breakfast, comfortable rooms and easy access to surfing made this a great family resort. The warm pools and higher prices were minor drawbacks. We'd We'd happily stay again. Highly recommended from this Kiwi family 🇳🇿🇱🇰"

"Our stay was amazing, the rooftop is the best. The food is really good and prepared with care. It’s a new hotel so obviously there are teething issues like- 1-There’s a hairdryer in the bathroom but no compatible input for its plug. 2- The gym machines even though new but are not maintained or cleaned regularly. 3- The charging point behind the bed can’t be reached cause of the headboard. These can be fixed easily so other than this the rooms are spacious and spotless. Pretty kid friendly too."

"The property is stunning and beautifully crafted, every corner of the property was picture perfect and aesthetic. The staff were extremely friendly and the manager, Rohan was super helpful - he helped us book our safari and massages. The pool is beautiful and looks exactly like the photos and is clean. The breakfast being included was super helpful and was very yummy with a good selection and excellent ingredients. Neem is extremely peaceful and relaxing. The beach right outside the hotel is stunning but not the best place to swim so I would recommend either staying by the pool or venturing out to nearby spots such as welligama or mirissa if you want to swim or polhena beach for turtle snorkelling - all within 20 minutes of the hotel. Our stay was wonderful and I would recommend this hotel to anyone, it is perfect."
