However, I was given the wrong room on arrival and found this out by the next guests letting themselves in whilst I was in the shower, very frightening for a solo female traveller, the hotel was not very apologetic and just called the room and said I needed to vacate as I had the wrong room. "Hotel is in a 200-year-old formerly private residence. Has many original features, which give it a unique character missing from more conventional accommodations. This can sometimes pose a problem, particularly the lack of an elevator for older clientele. Our room on the 3rd floor facing the park and restaurants required walking up 54 steps. "A very comfortable and friendly place to stay outside the centre but walking distance to all the main sights. Plenty of nice restaurants within a block or two from the expensive upcoming chef tasting menu type to the excellent (inexpensive but imaginative) Rakor which we wish would open a branch near where we live! "We really enjoyed our stay at the Altar Suites. The property is situated in a very central area and offers spectacular views of the major historical sites. We were greeted by the friendly staff and they were all very enthusiastic and polite. We definitely recommend this property. "

"Location of the property is in an alley so a big van or shuttle would not be able to drop you off directly. The property is center of a lot of bars and restaurants. The only issue are the elevators. It's small (can fit 1 person and 1-2 luggage at a time) and it can take awhile to get down if you have a lot of luggages. Overall the staff is very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again."

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Marblous! It is very conveniently located in central Athens so you can walk to just about all the major attractions. The rooms are very nice and clean and I loved the staff here, they were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast here is also fantastic!!"
