"The only down side about this hotel is that the train to Amsterdam Central is expensive (about 18 euros round trip) But the hotel is great, just a few steps from the train station, and it only takes about 30 minutes to get to Amsterdam central station. Rooms are very spacious and clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay there again. You won't find a hotel this nice for this price in central Amsterdam."

"massive problem at check in as i was not informed about the access code. as i was checking in at night it created unwanted additional costs. the place is good, the room was spot on, the breakfast was good. The the area in even better. "

"I don't think I've ever written this negative of a review before. This hotel is a quirky (one might say weird) place with a retro vibe. The front desk clerk said it was a renovated reform school for boys. Each room has a different decor, is a different size, but the two we saw were just not what you expect for a hotel. My room was so small I couldn't put my suitcase on the floor. The closet was a metal pole with a drawer beneath it, but the nightstand was up against the drawer so I couldn't use it. My friend's room must have been the communal shower. Her bedroom walls were covered in old bathroom tiles and there were three doors, one to the sink, one to the shower, one to the toilet, each the size of a small closet. When we said we wouldn't stay, the desk clerk offered us "other rooms" but we found the place too depressing. Maybe others would find it fun. There were a number of families playing games in the lobby livingroom. We had paid up front for two rooms for almost a week. No refund or offer to compensate us in any way except to offer us a different room, which was likely to be just as weird (although I suppose it could've been bigger). I thought the photos on the website were completely misleading."

"Restaurant food was fresh prepared every day. Manager is Davide...great guy and very hospitable. Easy access to Metro which makes the distance to central Amsterdam very easy. Rooms are very small so keep that in mind. "

"The staff are not very friendly and especially to independent travellers as the hotel is geared to large groups. There are rules about only being allowed 2 sachets of coffee in the room then you have to buy more. There is a lift but only to certain areas, not all rooms are accessible by lift, which is not good as it appears that most guests are elderly. Breakfast not available to those not travelling in a group. Area out the back in the area that you go through to the car park is an accident waiting to happen with tools and cables strewn around untidily (see photo)"

"The room had a mirror to see the canals. The view from the room was not directly very nice but that's alright. Got a shaving kit on request. The coffee in the lobby is good. Wifi is good too. Staff were helpful and printed out stuff I needed. Can see myself returning! Good location too. "

"The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the room was clean. It is a basic hotel, somewhat dated. I did not eat there so can’t comment on the breakfast or restaurant. The complementary beverage was a nice touch. The hotel is close to the Norde train terminal which was convenient. "
