"This was a highlight on our drive from Lyon to Nice. In the charming small town of Fossano Italy, this beautiful former monastery was a special treat. Service was outstanding - friendly, respectful with English spoken flawlessly from many of the staff. Our room, with sky high vaulted wood beamed ceiling was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable. Modern bathroom with finished concrete bath and lovely toiletries. We enjoyed an apero in the bar ( complete with complimentary charcuterie plate at happy hour) and then dinner in their restaurant. Dinner was at a fine dining calibre with a modest price tag. Breakfast, included with our stay was filled with freshly baked cakes and pastries, fruit and delicious coffee. As fairly seasoned travellers, expectations in this mid price range are hit and miss. "This property was beyond our expectations. Not only were the staff friendly always, the hotel gave back to its guests. Unusual in my experience. Breakfast and beach lounges included in the room rate. Pop sickles or watermelon passed out to cool you while you sunbathe as well as water. Live music every evening. The town itself totally walkable. Wonderful wonderful. "
