"Our stay at this location was great. It is centrally located right in the middle of downtown with lots of things to do within walking distance. Food was on every corner, with a Denny's just across the parking lot from the hotel. The hotel was clean, as was our room. We went with the intention of attending Oyster Bake and the Fiestas, so we just stayed a couple of days. The breakfast options were great, and there was food readily available for everyone, even on the very high-traffic mornings. The pool and hot tub were open and clean, even though the weather did not permit us to use those amenities. The only thing that I would advise people who are considering this location is to be aware of the "paid parking" expectation. As of Jan 2026, this area is considered the "entertainment district," and the city has required all of these areas to charge for parking. It ran us $36 for 24-hour parking. However, we were allowed to "come and go" as many times as we needed. There may have been some other parking options in the area, but they just seemed like an inconvenience for us. Other than the unexpected parking arrangement, this stay was amazing!"

"Our stay was not the best, Tv in second bedroom didn't work. Talked to maintenance but was a no show. Phone line didn't work, put my steps in for sure. Dirty sheets on pull out bed. Thank goodness we brought our own! Parking charge was $45 per day! Spoke to staff about the issues and was told sorry?? Breakfast was terrible and repetitive! Asking for towels was like pulling teeth! The full size fridge, stove and dish washer was a plus! Beds were comfortable!"

"The staff (were the most inviting, courteous, and professional, that I have ever experienced at a hotel. Valet greeted us and opened the door even though we didn't use the service, personnel working the check in desk were eager to check us in and provide direction, house keepers were pleasant. We stayed in the Ambassador Room with private balcony on the 6th floor. Room was cleaned and tidy when we walked in. Coffee maker was tucked in the furniture with a slide out which kept the focus on the room and not having the eyesore of appliances on the surfaces. For a building that has been standing for 170 years, it is surprisingly maintained and kept up with. If I visit SATX in the future, or if someone asks for a recommendation, I will advise to stay at the Mansion Del Rio."

"This hotel was extremely clean. Everything was easily accessible and walking distance from the hotel. The bar was well ran and all hotel staff was very kind and helpful. We would definitely stay here again."
