A landmark Frank Lloyd Wright home, world-renowned performance centers and a unique industrial history await visitors to New Hampshire’s largest city.

Manchester was one of the region's leading industrial hubs in the 19th century. Now it is New Hampshire's largest city and offers an appealing blend of culture, outdoor activities and classic New England charm.

Historic textile mills and factories from the city's industrial past command today’s skyline. Stroll through the Millyard Museum to learn about 11,000 years of regional history. Upstairs, visit the SEE Science Center with hands-on activities and interactive exhibits for the whole family. Admire the LEGO® Millyard Project, a 3-million-piece scale LEGO® model of the city’s historic Amoskeag Mill complex. Outside, walk along the banks of the Merrimack River, which runs through the center of Manchester.

Explore centuries of American and European sculptures, paintings and ceramics at the Currier Museum of Art. Travel 2 miles (3 kilometers) north to the Zimmerman House, the only Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in New England that is open to the public. Take a guided tour to explore the architecture and grounds of this unique landmark.

Head downtown for tax-free shopping. Watch a show at the Palace Theatre, where renowned performers take to the stage in a historic setting. The Verizon Wireless Arena draws popular musicians and is also home to the Manchester Monarchs hockey team. Grab a spot in the 11,000-seat civic center and settle back for an evening of entertainment.

Spend a day along the banks of Lake Massabesic, an outdoor recreation area less than 5 miles (8 kilometers) from downtown. Walk along trails bordering the waterfront or enjoy fishing or kayaking on the lake. In winter, ski at Mount McIntyre right in the downtown area.

Drive an hour east to New Hampshire’s coast for swimming or sunbathing on the Atlantic Ocean shores. While in New England, enjoy local specialties of lobster and other fresh seafood.

Manchester is 52 miles (83.7 kilometers) from Boston. Visit during autumn to experience the peak of New England’s renowned colorful foliage. Enjoy the picturesque location and unique cultural attractions in this charming city.
