Tara Hotel

"Awesome hotel..youbwill not be disappointed."

Sleibhte Sliabh Liag

8/10 Good

"Was not clear in the description that the building is actually divided into 3 units. We booked the 3 bedrooms only to realise it's upstairs. And is a big con for a disabled visitor. The flight up is okay but imagine if you can't climb up the stairs! Each bedroom had their tiny individual shower rooms. No hooks for hanging clothes, very tiny space for putting toiletries, or none at all. Had to put on the floor or on the toilet seat. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. Kitchen is new and clean. We didn't cook. No dish washing machine and no dryer. We did use the washing machine that took forever to spin dry. Heater was working well. Was very warm towards the end of the stay. Living room is very small with large dated sofas... There are 3 of us, so it was enough for us, but a bit claustrophobic. Big con for me: no windows to look out and admire the beautiful view unless I stand next to window or bedroom or on a ladder. Location is hard to find when it is dark. Please print the map out before travelling there because there is no 4G, not even H, and no phone signal! It is in the middle of nowhere. I was lucky I caught some signal to get my location while we were searching for the house when it was dark. We didn't know who to call anyway if we had gotten lost - no prior communication with the owners. Pros: quiet and stunning location for those who love nature."

Owen Tucker View House

8/10 Good

"The property was very clean and would suit 2/3 couples or a larger family. The only drawback is the small garden, but with such gorgeous beaches a short drive away we didn't worry too much about not being able to access outside space. We really enjoyed the close proximity to amenities in Ardara, as the wee town has a number of pubs, cafes and shops all within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Ardara - we had a comfortable stay and enjoyed everything the area has to offer, including the waterfalls, caves, cliffs and beaches."

Sleep 6 Cottage -petsok, Selfcheck-in, Freeparking

10/10 Excellent

"Sean's house is a lovely, cosy place with three very good sized bedrooms and a kitchen with everything you might need. There is the option to light a fire in the sitting room making it an even cosier place. The views are incredible and there is a beach nearby. Unfortunately we had a traffic accident and did not get to fully appreciate the area but it did not take away from the beauty of the location. I would like to point out that it is a very rural location and public transport including taxis are not as accessible as they would be nearer the town. You really need your own transport. Ardara is a lovely town and the Centra supermarket has a good range of products, some of it sourced locally. Due to our accident we didn't get to enjoy the local pubs and restaurants which means we will have to return. I would recommend Sean's house to anyone who wants a quiet rural location in a property and location that is quintessentialy Irish. It is less than 10 minutes drive to Ardara and Letterkenny is a little over an hour away. Sean is a kind host who helped us out when we were stranded without transport and we would love to return to fully enjoy Donegal."
