The reason for the low rating is due mainly to a mix up in the reservations that we have and how it was handled. We reserved two bedrooms apt, got only one, and also by mistake they overcharge me, and it took me two months and many phone calls and emails to get my money back. Also, we were there during the heat wave and their AC doesn't work that great and it does not go below 22...

"This was a decent stay. We were hoping to save some money by going this route instead of a hotel for overall price and a kitchen, and we did save money! There is major construction happening next door, so that was loud, and no AC, though we did find a window unit in the closet that saved the day. There were also stand fans. It is possible to take a funicular to the top of Monte San Salvatore, and to hike down from there. Count 4h to get to Morcotte, voted most beautiful village of Switzerland in 2016. From Moroctte, you can take the boat back to Lugano.

" The hotel is exquisite. My room, the junior suite, was moderately priced, and had a huge terrace with a lake view, as did the high-ceilinged room with a big arched window. Every detail was luxurious, and it was immaculate. It was nicer than most 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in. The breakfast was grand, the common sitting room was gorgeous, the staff was warm and helpful, and it’s just steps from the lake and the duomo. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. It helped make Como the highlight of my trip so far. "
