"Malagos Resort is definitely a place to visit if you're looking to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet. Just be prepared for the distance—it's about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Davao City and roughly the same distance from the airport. Once you're there, though, the atmosphere is very peaceful, and there's plenty to experience on the property.
I really enjoyed the breakfast, and the Chocolate Museum was awesome. The chocolate, ice cream, and little restaurant inside were all highlights for me. The pool area was enjoyable, and I was also surprised by how reasonably priced the drinks were. There's enough to do around the resort, but realistically, I think one full day or a two-night stay is enough to experience everything.
There are some areas that need improvement. The bed in my room felt very old and was extremely uncomfortable, which made sleeping difficult. My room was also filled with ants, and I think they need to improve their pest control. The internet was very slow as well, which became frustrating during the stay.
I also wish they would put more attention into maintaining the petting zoo. Compared with the other attractions, it looked like it hadn't been properly cared for in quite some time.
Overall, I actually enjoyed my time here. The peaceful environment, food, museum, ice cream, pool, and affordable drinks made the trip worthwhile. Fix the rooms, beds, ants, Wi-Fi, and petting zoo, and the experience would be significantly better."
