Everything about the accommodation was excellent, especially the staff! Despite the communication struggles, they were very helpful and provided great service during my stay. The free shuttle service to the ski resort was also extremely useful as they would drive you to your desired resort and pick you up at your specified time.
Without a car, there is limited access to any surrounding towns. There is a bus but it’s relatively infrequent. However, staying in is also great due to the 24 hour accessible onsens and the fantastic food they serve (this needs to be reserved ahead of time).
Excellent place for a relaxed skiing/hiking vacation!
Fantastic service. The manager is very kind and changed our breakfast to accommodate a food allergy. We were very thankful for that. The place is spacious and beautiful. The outdoor bath was small but so relaxing. The futons were a bit hard. We have stayed in many tatami rooms with futons but these seemed much harder or maybe our bones are just older. But the children thought they were hard as well. Otherwise we had a lovely stay and would defiantly go again.
We stayed there only to hike on Saturday morning after Friday business in Tokyo. So we arrived there at 23:00 and left at 6:00 next morning.
The Onsen is available 24 hours, so we could bath after our arrival.
The Onsen was much greater than I had expected because firstly not all of the accommodates with the Onsen has 24 hours serves 24 hours, or I would say it’s rather rare. But it was very cleanly kept. And had extra towels service ready.
The room was Tatami floor and Futon was not ready, so we made it by ourselves which is usual for this kind of Japanese style pension and no problem for us.
We didn’t ask for any meal service there.
But another good thing is that they welcome the guest to take another bath when returned from hiking. So we went and enjoyed the Onsen. And I found that they have open air bath, then I enjoyed it too of course.
Staffs are very kind and so friendly.
I will come again for sure.
