Lugar sucio y ruidoso

Good. Right in centro

I had a quiet room upstairs, medium size with window to the inside. Bathroom is on the smaller side, I had no problem with it. daily cleaned with fresh linens. Desk in room. Staff avail round the clock. Available 50meters to restaurant, bars, grocery. 1 block to metro and renfee. Climate control/cable. Wasn't obvious to find so use a map or if you can ask somwone.

Location, location, location

Location, location, location. Hostal Alaska could not have been better located for exploring Madrid with Puerta del Sol just a half block down the street. The front desk is manned 24 hours a day, and the staff is very attentive. The area is extremely safe and provides immediate access to restaurants, shopping, city sights, on-off bus sightseeing and bus or metro transportation. The room was updated and comfortable. Just be sure to have specific directions to the door of the place since it is not obvious and is just one door onto the street. This is not a criticism, but rather advice to help you find the place easily. We were 100% satisfied with our room and bathroom. We look for comfortable clean accommodations to serve as a base for exploring the places we travel to. Hostal Alaska fit the bill perfectly.

A little difficult to find at first. The entrance to the hostel and the building looked bad but the room was ok. Very near to Sol Station, so easy access to metro and renfe. A lot of shops and eating outlets. Very central. Bathroom was very tiny. We booked the family room, so we had a microwave in the room which was very useful for us.

The location is terrific. The room is nice and clean. However, they don't provide a kettle - no means to have meals in the room. The air conditioner was sufficient for the night. However, when I returned at 9 AM from my morning walk, the room was heating up as if there was some source of heat inside the room. So, the room was fine for one night but would not be OK for spending some time during the day

Nice hotel in the center of madrid

The hotel was good, it had all we needed and it was perfect for our kind of trip. We stayed there 5 days and we can't complain about anything. The hotel staff was very kind (but doesn't speak English but we made it also with our school Spanish, so it wasn't a big problem. The hotel is very central and only some steps away from the Puerta del so. All in all I would recommend the hotel to all people.
