Amazing experience

We had a wonderful stay the this new resort. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We brought our two young boys along (age 5 & 7) and stayed at the two rooms lagoon villa. The villa was beautifully decorated and the view over the Indian Ocean was stunning. It was very new and clean, although we couldn’t walk down to the water directly from our lagoon villa, we had our own private pool and our boys enjoyed swimming in the pool the first thing every morning. The kids club staff were super friendly and caring. Our boys enjoyed the outdoor water park, zip line, painting with the artist and learning about marine fishes and corals. They also played some board games and video games there. We dropped the kids off at the kids club for 2-3 hours each day. We also went on the dolphin watching tour and snorkelling tour. We saw quite a few manta rays and dolphins during the tour. Snorkelling was ok, there were mostly hard corals. Saw a few turtles but no baby sharks. The food and wine were amazing too! There were 4 restaurants at the resorts. Spa was okay, just a bit pricey. The couples spa room was very clean with beautiful design. The view was was stunning. In short, we had an amazing experience in this trip. We highly recommend this resort to everyone.

THE INTERCONTINENTAL HAS SET THE BAR HIGH

It was my husband & I's first time in the Maldives. Whilst we know it's not cheap, we thought it was money well spent, & had the best time. We stayed for 4 nights but wished we'd stayed for longer. Our room (sunset overwater villa) was luxurious, especially with the private pool. The facilities at the resort were always clean. There is a variety of activities including snorkelling, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, fitness classes & yoga, so we were never bored. All staff were incredibly friendly and service impeccable. Our island curator went the extra mile when I asked to organise a bath! We truly felt the staff wanted us to enjoy our time at the resort & we did. Food was delicious - there is a wide range of dishes on the menu. We particularly loved the afternoon tea which is included as part of Club Benefits. We were always very well fed so didn't need to eat lunch. We were blessed with perfect weather and beautiful sunsets each day. At night the sky was perfectly clear, so the stars in the night sky were visible. The house reef is teamed with plenty of fish & we were lucky to see eagle rays whilst snorkelling. The highlight was the dolphin sunset cruise. Whilst not guaranteed to see any dolphins, after an hour cruising the ocean, we were delighted with the presence of a pod of dolphins happily swimming along the boat with the most beautiful sunset as the backdrop. We were so blessed! Our entire stay felt like it was a dream. We highly recommend the Intercontinental.

Briefly put: - marvelous premise and beautiful surroundings, - charming staff and personal assistant (called curator) who have done everything to fulfil our wishes and - a very accommodating management team We stayed in a sunset bungalow which we highly recommend, because it allows you to quickly jump into the sea (e.g. for snorkeling in the house reef) AND provides privacy (as well as sun and enough shade). Our curator, Angel, deserves that name: she organized all the small (and not so small) things for us (e.g. specific kinds of fruits, plasters, chamomile tea, etc.). The staff in all the restaurants is charming. We only want to highlight the breakfast team at Café Umi (Hannah and all the others whose names we neither can pronounce nor remember – sorry!). Another special “Thank you” goes to the Emily from the Marina team and “our” Yoga trainer! We highly recommend visiting the Aerial Yoga-session in the morning (note that all sessions are complementary). Last but not least, we are grateful that the reservation and management team allowed us to postpone our stay (we had some visa issues) at no additional costs. Speaking of costs: yes, it is a rather expensive resort but they assist you from the time you arrive at the airport until you depart (we were accompanied until the security check). We will remember this vacation in the brightest colors (figuratively and literally because of the blue-green waters, the white beaches and the excellent black coffee).

The property and service at this resort are incredibly luxurious. Keep up the good work! We stayed in an overwater villa - beautifully decorated and kept spotless by the staff throughout our stay. Prepare to be pampered - the team goes out of their way to ensure your every request is met. The meals were delicious, food fresh and provided a good variety of options.
