"The room was clean, but the AC filter was very dirty, making the unit work very hard, but it functioned! The view was amazing, the breakfast good (but the same everyday we stayed) and the staff was very nice. It is a grand older hotel in a beautiful location with free parking. We will go back!"

"The balcony overlooking the sea was beautiful, it was so nice ti sit there in the evening and first thing in the morning. All the staff we met were absolutely lovely. Check in was quick and easy. Hotel is a bit dated. The ladies toilets by the bar were blocked but the gentleman working reception guarded the toilet door for the men's whilst my friend used it so she felt safe. The bed was really comfortable. I should have asked for an extra pillow as one wasnt enough for me, but this didnt spoil the stay. The room was a great size. Free toiletries smelt really nice. Close to town and the station. I would stay here again"

"I was pleasantly surprised with the Grand Burstin. Hotel was very clean, staff were really friendly and the amenities were fantastic. The entertainment at the hotel was out of this world and so unexpected. I had a wonderful evening full of entertainment. Bar staff are very friendly. Especially the lady with the long brown hair. "Staff were very friendly and efficient. Hotel and my room always looked clean and inviting. Meals were tasty and well presented. If had to make a criticism it would be that there was no portable (temporary) air conditioning and the windows in my room (Charles 3rd) could not be opened. A large fan had thoughtfully been provided before my arrival but in the heatwave simply moved the hot air. Bar and restaurant staff were excellent and despite seeming to be switching between roles at times, there was never much of a wait. This was my first break in 2 1/2 years and was very relaxing. Would definitely visit again."

"As one can tell from the photos, this is a beautiful lodge in the old city. It's perched on a cliff overlooking the lowlands and the harbor off in the distance. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The breakfast menu, while limited, offered a fine variety of options, all well prepared. The only factor that keeps this rating from 5-stars is that the building lacks an elevator and stairs to upper floors are narrow and steep, the carpet is threadbare, and the walls require repair and re-painting. (The staff assured us that such repairs are forthcoming.) One would expect better upkeep, given the rates charged. That said, we'd go back."
