Welcoming and helpful staff. Beautiful building and warm and cosy room whilst outside temperature was far below zero.
Very comfortable pillows and a great bed.
Very quiet over night so slept undisturbed.
Great collection of choices for breakfast and view over the town centre from the restaurant.
Plenty of parking space available.
The hotel has it's own power supply and heating.
There is also a shelter below the ground floor.
Highly recommended hotel. Very close to the centre of the town.
We had a great time at this property even though there is a war going on. Lovely place, staff were amazing especially the front desk ‘ternopil says hi’
Excellent hotel all-around. Staff very courteous. Hotel clean, quiet, excellent breakfast, easy on-site (and free) parking. It's a good 10 minute walk to the heart of the city, and it's all uphill on the way back to the hotel. Recommended.
While the hotel staff were friendly and the location excellent and room clean and good - the behaviour of the bar staff spoiled what would otherwise been a great stay.
Specifically, the bar staff cheated on the bill - increasing prices above what was on the menu - and providing drinks that were cheaper and different to what we ordered thinking we wouldn't notice.
When this was brought to their attention, the reaction was one where the manager admitted that they were cheating, showing no remorse or even apologizing - it leads me to believe that this was no accident or isolated case.
This is very disappointing as this is the first time we encounter such activity in a hotel of the quality that Citadel Inn is in Ukraine.
The bill was ultimately cancelled but its not about the money - its about the service quality and the disgusting feeling you get.
We enjoyed our stay at this historic hotel. The staff members were friendly and professional. The breakfast was good, and the room was extremely quiet. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Even though you are in what was once a fortress, the wifi works good. The only thing you should note is that you do have to walk up and down a hill anytime you want to go into the center of the city, but they do have a path you can take that is helpful.
The ambience is great, it is a former prison :) now a top hotel close to the city centre. The staff is friendly but as often the case in Ukraine, various degrees of English proficiency.
I especially appreciate the ability to late arrivals and still have my clothes ironed, washed or both - a must when travelling for business.
Superb building, lovely, big rooms and very nice and helpful staff. Great attention to detail too, e.g. leaving delicious sweets in the room on arrival and complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water each day.
Very polite staff
Evgeniy Sushko, the cheff, spoiled us with his amazing dishes!
We had such a great experience!
Thank you to everyone in the Citadel to make our stay very special!
