"The room had a bad odor like dirty feet. The pillows smelled bad as well like a sweaty odor. The pool was empty. Breakfast was poor only pancakes machine for warm meal."
"Stayed two nights; everything was great. We have friends in the area, one of whom owns nearby hotels and would have given us a room: no way. We love the Hampton!
The room was awesome at the price, beautifully kept, no maintenance issues, everything in tiptop shape, just like at Shelton Vineyards, a scant 2.5 mi away. Breakfast was fresh and hot both mornings, we were allowed by smiling staff to cadge extra coffee and towels right off the cleaning cart. Loved the shower. Wish our shower head at home was that nice! Shelton Vineyards, btw, also is home to the Harvest Grill, which is the best eating (and drinking) spot in the county. Highly recommend this hotel."
"On the main drag, 1/2 mi from US221 S toward Asheville, about a mile from US441 east to the NC piedmont.
I thought the Rhodes was great. Loved the way the room was trimmed out, suited me perfectly. You gotta want something a little different to enjoy the place; some will find the hiker chic a tad underwhelming. Thought the lobby was wonderful, the bar and restaurant look nice, didn't get a chance to eat there. Somebody took an old motor lodge from the postwar boom and updated it very well. Mountain views, smack in the middle of everything Boone. "
"Very nice hotel. The bathroom was a bit dirty and the glasses in the room were not clean but everything else was good. The breakfast was ok. The staff were all very nice. The parking lot is not great. It is hard to pull in off King street and hard to find a parking spot if you return late in the evening. "
"The rooms were remodeled and kept clean compared to other Inns. The Inn offered continental breakfast that like waffles, yogurt and cereal. Staff was friendly. "
"The front desk lady was so sweet, made small talk and made check in very easy! We got cookies at check in. Room smelled and looked very clean. Perfect stay right off the highway when traveling! "
