"The Property is in a good location and has shuttle service to take guest to a central location in Key West. The Property has a nice restaurant, awesome outside pools, and nice amenities you'd expect at a Resort."
"My complaints are the elevators did not work, the shuttle advertised to the airport was not in operation anymore, due to flooding the shuttle downtown was not operating for a day, and staff was hit or miss none were rude, but some were more helpful than others at the front desk. As well as if your room did not come with a laundry facility there is no property ones or even a service where they charge a fee. You have to go to a sketchy ghetto laundry mat where you will be lucky if your stuff isn't stolen and I even seen a cockroach there, however this is not a review of the laundry place more of a com
Most of the bad reviews come from expectations of Key West such as the beach on property, as most Key West beaches are manmade this is not a traditional beach that you would find in mainland Florida, however you can swim in the ocean there is a area for swimming and you can lay out there and sunbathe it is a nice amenity and the property is doing the best with what they have.
The pool was also very large and had a hot tub as well, the food at the pool was also good a little pricey but that average for hotels I would just if you did not want to pay the money to pick somewhere else to eat. The pool was also open all night long meaning if it was too crowded during the day I was able to swim at night as well and was well lit.
If you are wanting a traditional beach experience this isn't the place for you however if you're wanting a nice place to stay then this place is amazing."
"This is not your five-star resort. It is clean, cute, and more than fine for a stay. We chose this property due to the location. We weren't in Key West for the typical Key West stuff. I wanted to be close to the port for the Dry Tortugas ferry. The resort is a bit outdated, but well maintained. The rooms are layers of paint and bathrooms are older colors, so it doesn't look great, but it is very clean. The bathroom was very small but served its purpose just fine.
I really did like the water view, hammock and small private patio. There aren't many places with these things. Now the water, it is on the water but I wouldn't have swum in it. Still, it was nice to sit and have coffee in the morning and watch the many birds.
I did love that we could book activities and rent a golf cart on site!
The restaurant has great drinks but a limited menu. Breakfast, don't go looking for anything great. That was the least liked part. Very limited continental breakfast. Waffles were from the freezer, you can tell. No breakfast meats or eggs. Just fruits, yogurts, cereal and waffles. Also, if you want coffee early in the am, you should plan ahead. We walked to the gas station as we needed to leave at 6am and there was no coffee yet.
Grounds aren't a gorgeous resort, but just fine for the in and out that we were.
I would say, don't go with high expectations but enjoy what it offers and the uniqueness!"
