"You often find a 5 star hotel that is middle of the road, no better than a 4 star and completely different from 5 star in other countries. This hotel, the staff, the quality and experience are what I would call truly 5 star, actually traditionally excellent 5 star. There is nothing I would find to complain about. We had an outstanding stay which has reinvigorated my faith in service, facilities, and enjoyment. Will definitely be going back and I just wish others provided this level also."

"The room we stayed in had hair left in the bathroom all on the floor and in the shower. There was ripped hole on our pillow case. Also the spa services were alot harder to book than what was advertised. Overall it's about a 3/5 stars from me."

"The staff was completely uncaring and unhelpful. There was no ventilation in our room. None at all. When I asked at the front desk I was told someone would take a look at it. When I asked again an hour later they said they called to have it inspected. When we got back from. dinner no one had been there. When I checked again with the front desk (in person since the phone did not work) I was told it was inspected and nothing was wrong. I was told that all of the rooms were the same temperature and it was suggested i sleep with the windows open. There was an obvious error code on the thermostat and all of the other rooms had their patio doors closed so I assumed their climate was working. So I was lied to twice by the front desk. And they were very smug and rude about everything. Even at check in. We have been all over the world in many hotels and have never been treated so poorly. Yes. The pool and location is great but does not even begin to compensate for the staff behavior at the price. This was our sixth visit to Portoroz and I will never stay at this hotel again. There are much better choices."
