"The hotel was great for the price. The carpets were a little grubby, but overall the place was clean and looked well looked after. The check in process is not very easy and requires you to fill in forms and get a code before you can book in. We stayed in building 2 which was over the road from the main hotel which had a funny smell downstairs, but the room itself was clean and fresh."

"This is an amazing hotel with amazing staff. We actually stayed here twice. We booked for 2 nights and then extended that stay. Then we went to another hotel in Manchester for 2 nights but immediately regretted that and booked at The Alan for the remainder of our trip. When we returned, the staff remembered us. The staff were so friendly and helpful. They answered our questions and offered to help when needed. Always greeted us when we arrived too. The breakfast was always delicious. The majority of the high rating was due to the staff. Thank you!!"
