The owner, Carol, and her husband have done an amazing job restoring the building. The woodwork alone is art!
Breakfast offered lots of options, was prepared to order, and was the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. Our server, Lisa, was friendly, personable, and efficient.
I enjoyed my stay, however the breakfast portion was very small even for a petite person like myself, I was still very hungry after breakfast. There was a cleaning issue with the bathroom that was overlooked by the cleaning staff that I alerted the owners to that will hopefully be fixed for future visitors. The house is great and very clean overall. The owners are very nice.
Beautiful maintained property in nice area within walking distance to restaurants. Service levels were excellent and made us feel very at home. Rooms were comfy and clean, overall was excellent value for money.
This is a beautiful old bed and breakfast that is well maintained by their wonderful staff. The breakfast is amazing, and the owners are very helpful and kind. It was a treat to stay here, beds were comfortable, it was very clean and convenient to everything. Thank you for a lovely stay!
The proprietors are warm and friendly. The property is quaint and slightly secluded, but centrally located. It's an easy walk to wonderful eateries. Enjoyed walking the bridge to Kentucky.
Highly recommend this property.
Beautifully restored house with spacious, clean rooms. The staff were all extremely nice and accommodating. They even thought of all the little things that make a B&B special like leaving rain ponchos out for the guests on rainy days and leaving a variety of freshly baked goods out for late night snacks. It was a 15 minute ride to Churchill Downs and 5 minutes from downtown Louisville. But, there were many restaurants and pubs in short walking distance. I highly recommend the Market Street Inn.
Very clean and quiet. Easy to find, parking was close. A lot of food options close by. Loved the walking bridge that was close. Bed was too hard and the room was too warm but the breakfast and coffee were delicious! Very hospitable and will come back in warmer weather to enjoy the rooftop patio!
Charming and quaint B and B in a historical building within walking distance of a cute little town right outside of Louisville. Felt like taking a trip back in time. The owner was a sweetheart and made a delicious breakfast spread. We stayed in the executive suite and it was gorgeous with a bathroom to die for. The bidet was an experience and super high tech…it actually played music while warming our feet and tushies. The shower had enough room and shower heads for two people. My 6’2” boyfriend was pleasantly impressed by the massive tub in the middle of the bathroom as he isn’t able to fit in ours back home. All in all it was a romantic and fun stay. Wish we had stayed for another night, but we were meeting the rest of our family in Louisville to hit the bourbon trail right across the bridge. Definitely will be back!
The inn is extremely quaint and charming, and within walking distance to several sites on our itinerary. Jennifer cooked our breakfast of scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon to perfection! The staff was friendly, and we enjoyed talking to them. I liked that it is located within the Rose Hill Historic District. The only drawback is that it is close to Hwy 65, so there is some traffic noise. But it is two blocks from the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge, and we so enjoyed watching the lights change colors at night. I was raised in Jeffersonville from ages 0-10, and had only been back for a very brief visit in the 1990s, so I really enjoyed this chance to learn more about my hometown--I saw so little of it as a child. I never knew it had such beautiful old neighborhoods, that are perfectly preserved. My own neighborhood, built in the late 1950s, had barely changed, and is still pristine.
My husband and I have been to B&Bs and had great experiences. I cannot say the same about this place. While the property was clean, had good parking, and the area was convenient, Management needed to be more robust. We did not anticipate encountering this at a Bed and Breakfast. Still, when researching this place, we learned they did not allow children except under special circumstances. However, that was different from our experience. On our first night there, there was a family with what seemed like very young children housed right above our room. It was terrible. The children behaved like they were at a playground (they were children!), the parents did nothing to contain them, and Management did nothing to resolve the issue, even after my husband informed them of the disruption. We were in by early evening the next day, and the disruption worsened. By then, I had enough. I asked that Management rectify the situation, or we'd leave and check into a hotel. Here is the response from Management: "I have asked the guests above you if the noise doesn't stop, I will ask them to leave immediately. They check out in morning." The response implied that while they made that request, we could put up with it until morning. At no point did anyone call us to ensure we were alright, nor apologize for any inconvenience. It was business as usual.
Additionally, the food could have been better. A trip to McDonald's would have offered more flavorful options.
