"The resort was really not open for business. Luckily, staff members were there when we checked in, but were not expecting us. Other than the night watchman, we never saw another employee. On our last night, the gates to the resort were locked and we had to climb through barbed wire and hike down to the main building and find the watchman. He gave us the key and we hiked back up the hill. The front desk was not open the hours advertised. The hot water did not work and we had no one to ask. ...

"Awesome place the staff after a few days started to feel like family. The views that we had there were excellent. The food was very good, the pool and the villas are top notch. Extremely clean and they maintained our rooms every time we left it. The staff were incredible supporting with all our activities we did and the planning our breakfast in the morning before our morning expeditions. Everyone there made the experience just so much better and eventful. Y’all did very well. Good job people. "

Everyone on the staff went over and beyond to assist you with whatever you need. The atmosphere was great as well. The perfect get away to relax, reflect and restore. "This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores.
The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants at Lauraceas and Savegre are close by. "
