Amazing clean safe very close to everything that you need to be next to transportation coffee shops restaurants of course the Venice Beach Boardwalk I would recommend this place for anybody to stay if they were passing through town

Lovely, low-key, respectful experience. Very well equipped with all the necessary items including coffee, dishes, fridge and stove, shampoo, body wash etc. I felt totally comfortable and safe. I was well-accepted even though I am 40 or 50 years older than most of the guests. Well-situated… close to beach in one direction and shopping in the other. A shining example of a friendly, well-equipped, well-situated hostel experience.

The location is great if you wanna go to the beach or Santa Monica. The property itself feels safe too. There is only three very small rest and washrooms for a large group of people though which is why they quickly seem dirty. Also, something we didn’t research enough before: there is not a lot of privacy. The stuff is super friendly and helpful!

pod stay

Free parking and 13 no Ute walk dron tfge beach. Across from the library and bus line right in front. Gate is a little tricky to navigate, but awesome location and staff. Clean and full kitchen. Lucked out when they were hosting a mixer so I got free good and drink + networking with tech industry folks. pods were nice....

Sadly, the bathrooms in this place were filthy. There were roaches, shower area was not thoroughly maintained and layers of dust/dirt in the vents. The beds were clean but there were tv screens dangling off the wall making it hard to sleep comfortably. The location is good and I'm confident this place can turn itself around eventually.

More like a last option

We stayed there for one night as our final stop in US. Overall nice place, the lady that checked us in was really friendly so big thank you! Location is great and nice patio. The minus would be how hot it gets in the pods, some of the staff and the fact that I got rashes on my body after the visit. So bedbugs may be a bigger issue.. When we checked out the guy in the desk barely looked up from his phone and didn’t say much so that could improve..

I didn't like how I got a skin rash from the moment I lay on the bed. Front Desk was super friendly and helpful, but management/supervisor was bad.

The facility had lots of great books and furniture. The area does have some decent dining options but that’s the only positive part. Employees and their associates were rude and verbally offensive. The pods were full of insects and you can expect bug bites. The microwave in the front does not work and the grass was overgrown. At night, they left all of the doors open and turned on the lights - causing more insects to go into the pods. Laundry was ruined by employee.

Not the best nights sleep

The location was good, but the mattress was very worn out and uncomfortable. They played rain sounds all night which I thought was just noisy and made it hard to sleep rather than the soothing effect they intended. There was also a rule against hanging towels in front of your bed for privacy which I've never seen in any hostel before.

Nobody was there to check me in or get me the door code in a timely manner even though I said when I’d be arriving (6pm, not crazy). But most of all, I woke up covered in bedbugs. Do not stay here. I did not have such a negative experience at other podshare locations.

Even though I paid for 2 nights stay in advance, after first night of stay, I went out during the day and when returned in the evening for second night stay, I found someone moved my bed thinking I checked out. The front desk apologized and explained someone made the mistake. WiFi was excellent. Cable was not working in TV area. But watching dvd movie was hard because TV's sound was not working. But someone at front desk came and fixed the problem after 45 minutes.

PodShare Venice was very well maintained (except for some mice). The staff regularly cleaned the common spaces and ensured people staying kept areas clean. However, because there was open food left in the kitchens (to share) and one person staying was staying long term with a lot of stuff piled up against a wall, there was a mouse living very comfortably next to my bunk in the wall of belongings. The staff were kind enough to let me move bunks in the middle of the night, but I heard the mouse the next day even though the area was cleaned up a bit. If disregarding the mouse, it was an excellent hostel-type setting, and really appreciated the quite hours (10pm - 10am) and cleanliness of the areas.
