Misleading and disappointing

No contact info 4 days before my arrival so I initiated contact. Margo was fast at getting to me and arranging the check in. First off I was given the wrong address, 238 city turned out to be 261..NO WIFI, only one key with a Fob for the 1st floor, even though our room was on the second. Had to have the concierge let us in each time. He told us that the owner was told two years ago to buy the correct Fob, but doesn't care. Blinds in living room were broken and wouldn't close so no privacy as several blind panels lay crumpled on the ground. Dinner plate had huge chip missing, heated floors not working, poor tv signals..otherwise..place was ok. Would not go back.

Apartment/room is pretty brand new and modern. Very Quite and spacious. Full equipped Kitchen. However, the balcony door is broken, stranger (if any) can easily break-in, feel unsafe. Carpet / pillow is very dirty, I can see very clearly the "shoes stamp" on the pillow.

Would be good to know you have to collect keys from a different location - with bookings for Guests at different times, this set up is not very suitable. Most apartments have a keysafe code/collection.

Lovely apartment

We had a lovely apartment, very spacious and cosy. The meet and greet guide was very helpful and polite, location was great, and easy to access. As we stayed on the weekend, we found free parking nearby. The only downfall was the WiFi was very poor, the concierge did try to fix it but it was still pretty slow.

Good flat, looses it on the detail

A nice apartment in a very good location although still being developed. Nothing really there unless you like a Kebab or McDonalds. Could e a scene from Judge Dredd. Took an age to get in, guy late,no second key, no key at all initially, have to mess with key to get in, lock needs replacing, fob didnt work, no toilet roll for goodness sake. Wifi didnt work so tethered. Only 2 glasses. No soap, no shampoo, no anything really so be prepared, there is a coop nearby. All the little touches not there taking it from good to mediocre, shame as it could be great if they thought just a little. Building maintenance poor, access doors all stick and drag, felt like a prison in appearance. Inside the flat although very sparse was in good condition and plenty of space, good balcony and equipment appeared good. The complex has a consierge, just as well as the fobs dont work. There really was nothing other than a shop in the area, felt isolated in central London, couldnt find a pub or restaurant other than a Turkish place (which was good). Will use other flats in future so they lost a 4 month contract on detail.

painful check-in process

Great location - close to Angel and Old City tube stations. Nice restaurants close by as well as small markets for fresh produce etc... The check-in process was painfully slow and inefficient. No toilet paper (in two bathrooms) when I arrived which was odd because the room had just been cleaned. No batteries for TV converted which was fine as I was going to be out a lot. The advice of the check-in rep was to use the controls on the TV. He promised that he would arrange to get two batteries up to the room but they never came. Again, didn't need the TV but if you say you're going to do something, please do it. Great place to stay just understand that the check-in process isn't ideal as the gentleman might be doing 2 or more rooms at the same time (and other locations too) and you'll have to wait your turn.

Huge Scam !

I arrived at 10pm no one at reception, door closed. I called a number provided by email to get someone. The guy on the phone first told me there is no more check in after 10pm, then I told him last checking was supposed to be midnight on hotels.com infos. He first told me cost will be 25£ for bringing the key, I was very hesitating then he told me no room was booked on my name being very rude. Another person was waiting with at the front door, she had same answsers. I had to find another hotel. Plus I prepaid deposit online. Now i am not even sure to be payback hotel cost + 250£ deposit ... WORST SCAM EVER IN LONDON !!!!

Verwacht geen luxe

Verwacht van de City Appartments geen luxe bedoening. Bij binnenkomst doet de ruimte wat treurig aan met de zonwering die er wat scheef bij hangt en de drukkende warmte in de ruimte. De (zeer vieze) ramen maar snel geopende, maar de warmte blijft het gehele verblijf in de ruimte hangen. De woonkamer en de slaapkamer zijn in orde, maar verwacht geen luxe of gezelligheid, het is zeer basic. Ik was niet van plan te gaan koken in de keuken, maar dat er enkel ver messen en een kurketrekker in de bestekla lagen, had ik niet verwacht. Ook geen theekoppen of theeglazen (we zijn toch in de UK) en dus niet een paar zakjes thee. Wel een waterkoker en een broodrooster aanwezig in de keuken. De badkamer is schoon, maar sterk verouderd en geen prettige ruimte om een lekker in bad te gaan. De ligging is wel OK, behalve dan dat weg waar het appartement aan ligt heel erg druk is en zelfs de gesloten ramen weinig geluid tegen houden. Kortom, mijn ervaring met City Appartements zijn niet echt heel erg positief. Het voldoet aan de basis, maar verwacht voor 170GBP per nacht geen luxe of een rustige en koele slaapkamer.

The access code given to me did not work so I was stuck outside for 20 mins until someone exited the building. I tried phoning the out of hours number repeatedly only to find each time it didn't connect. When I finally got in I found the mattress on the floor and the bed base broken. Also the only bed linen left was a sheet and pillowcases. Absolutely appalling. The following day I sent them an email about everything and called them and I'm still waiting for a response 3 days later

Belle chambre, proche de la gare SNCF.

Bonne expérience générale au niveau de l'hôtel. Proche de la gare St Pancras. Pas de boutiques mais suffisamment de commerces pour acheter nourritures et titres de transports. Il y avait également des restaurants. Deux belles chambres + deux sales de bains. J'ai aimé la petite attention dans la cuisine : café instantanée et thé à côté de la bouilloire. Je mets 2/5 pour le personnel de l'hôtel non pas parce qu'il n'y a personne sur place pour vous accueillir ou vous renseigner (Ceci est bien précisé dans l'annonce), mais parce la communication avec Smartcityapartments n'est pas bonne (je n'ai communiqué que par mail) : - Le dépôt de garantie (caution) est plus élevé que ce qu'annonce Expedia ( Même si vous n'êtes pas prélevé, cela porte à confusion). On ne reçoit aucun mail de confirmation. - On m'a indiqué que la chambre serait disponible à 10H00. FAUX, elle est disponible à partir de 15H00 (obligé de payer une consigne à la gare pour les valises) - Je devais recevoir le mail avec toute les informations nécessaires (comment récupérer la clé de la chambre, code du bâtiment, etc...) la veille de mon arrivée. Je l'ai reçu le jour même à 10 heure passé... (Donc obliger d’activer la connexion 3G de mon téléphone avec le hors forfait qui va avec). -J'ai reçu le mail explicatif pour le wifi 2 jours après mon arrivée. Je n'ai pas attendu tout ce temps pour me connecter mais je pense au désagrément engendré pour ceux qui ne sont pas à l'aise avec l'informatique en général.

Booked for the London marathon and location was perfect for getting to London Bridge on the morning of the event either by bus or tube. The organisation left a little to be desired as I was sent self check in details but was called on the day to say that we would be met if I called 15 mins before arrival. When I called the mobile number no one answered which worried me but eventually they came to meet us and gave us a room... All turned out fine in the end.

Tutto bene: appartamento in palazzo molto recente sul ring (anello che divide la zona libera del traffico auto dalla zona C a pagamento)dotato di tutto il necessario ma non molto seguito (manutenzione approssimativa e dotazioni già scarse o mancanti). Unico appunto: all'arrivo doveva esserci un addetto a fornire le chiavi che non si è presentato e abbiamo dovuto chiamare per farci mandare qualcun altro.

7 extra forms of ID who can do that? DO not book this. You book hotels.com then they cancel your order to make you get in touch. Then want your card as a picture, then passport picture, then pre-authorisation for cover? Then fill in a form at the place, show passport again????? Then nothing in the apartment...

Beaucoup d'espace mais rue bruyante.

Très bonne localisation et grand appartement, mais manque de couverts et ustensiles de cuisine et surtout pas de papier toilette... Lits confortables, mais isolation phonique par rapport à la rue insuffisante.

Please dont make the same mistake - Avoid!

In hindsight I should have paid more attention to the reviews myself, as the warning signs were there. We booked a room for a family trip to London, had to send additional details and afterwards the promised check in details never appeared. After much chasing, we were told we would be met and checked in on site by a member of staff. When we got there we had to wait over an hour for someone to come and let us in. The apartment itself was dirty, with layers of dust on table and plates, and was bare with dirty walls and bathrooms. The kitchen had none of the cooking utensils you expect, with no pots or even cutlery.. In the end the fact that there was a working microwave was our saviour. I duly complained to the Smart city apartments, and I have had to fight for a partial refund, although I would say that Hotels.com themselves have been great. Please please for your own sake avoid!

Appart'hotel très moyen

Appartement spacieux, mais propreté très moyenne en général, voire vraiment sale (cuisine collante, vaisselle douteuse). Bien situé (5-10 minutes à pied du métro, 2 stations de la gare de St Pancras), mais donnant sur un grand boulevard, et du coup très bruyant.

Varausjärjestelmien yhteensopimattomuuden takia tietomme eivät olleet heidän tiedossa, joten vaati muutaman puhelinsoiton. Viereisellä tontilla aloitettu rakennustyömaa kestää vuoteen 2019 asti. Päiväaikaan aiheutti melua mutta öisin sai nukkua rauhassa. Huoneisto hyvin varusteltu ja tilava mutta vähän kuluneen oloinen. Suositukset varauksin.
