Logon is the principal village (or barangay) of Malapascua Island and a gateway to the island’s activities. Top up your tan, swim and enjoy relaxed walks at the village’s beaches. Step onto an outrigger boat bound for isolated islets and dive spots. Stay overnight at beach-facing hotels and resorts. Logon occupies the majority of the island’s southern region.
Go to Logon Beach, set on the village’s west coast, to find the island’s ferry port. Watch as local fishermen bring in the day’s catch aboard colorful trawlers. Spot crabs, shells and starfish, which get dropped into the tidal pools created at high tide. Come in the evening, sit on the soft sand and prepare to witness a magnificent sunset.
Walk to nearby Bounty Beach, a beach of fine sand that curves around the village’s south and western shoreline. Appreciate the postcard-perfect scenery from the terrace of a restaurant or while you are sitting under a swaying palm tree. Take an invigorating swim in the warm, transparent water and spot a variety of aquatic creatures.

Step onto an outrigger boat and cruise across the glistening Visayan Sea to dive spots such as Gato Island, Kemod Shoal and Lapus Lapus Island. Explore dreamlike coral gardens and oceanic plateaus. Get the chance to swim face-to-face with manta rays and thresher sharks at Monad Shoal.
Venture outside of the village and discover other areas of the island on foot. Just a 35-minute walk away is Bantigue Cove and Guimbitayan Beach. Visit Malapascua Lighthouse, set atop a low-lying hill, for views of secluded bays and the island’s picturesque coastline. Rent a scooter or rent a motorcycle taxi if you don’t feel like walking.
Logon is easy to reach via ferries departing from Maya, on Cebu Island. Spend the night in one of several resorts located along the waterfront and on the quiet village streets. There are no ATMs here so bring cash. Most resorts accept credit cards.
