"A happy stay for both us and the dog. Clean and comfortable with all you need. Plenty of hot water and the heating was excellent when needed, the log burner completed the package. Just a little tight on space either side of the bed but not unusual in an older one level cottage. Secure garden for a dog unless it decides to explore the stream at the end of the garden. Ours didn't just enjoyed sitting in the sun with us. Nice to have a view too! "

"We stayed for the week so we could go to the Eisteddfod, they even found a space for us to store the harp. Room was clean and tidy, staff were friendly. We joined in the weekly quiz and weekly bingo. A good location and would stop again."

"Room was clean but small & basic. Bed and pillows were comfortable. There were no chairs to sit in the room (although they did provide one after asking). There was no fridge or locker and it was hottest part of the week in Bangor. Bathroom was basic and light above sink was not working. No bins in toilet either. Cleaned room was far from satisfactory as only fresh towels were given, bed wasn't made and toilet not cleaned properly. They provide breakfast at a charge which is £11.95 each even if you have vegetarian or only granola cereal with some fruits / yogurt! Place is run by 1-2 staff only including kitchen , reception, breakfast restaurant. Evening food was very good and very well presented and portioned as well as discounts for residents."

"The room we were allocated was very dated and tired. The mattress was old, sagging and not comfortable. The bathroom was equally poor with black mould on the paintwork, loose loo roll holder, insufficient loo paper for two guests over two nights and not restocked! The drench shower was right over the bath tap controls and not thermostatically controlled. My wife nearly got scalded trying to adjust the over bath shower. No warning that the hot water was extremely hot (as an experienced plumbing and heating engineer, I would guess the hot was over 60°C). No grab rail was provided to assist entry into the quite high bath. The worst were the selfish bar staff who where dropping empty beer kegs and emptying tubs of bottles in a skip right under our window until 23.40! Value for money was poor bearing in mind the nightly rate. To be totally objective, there was one positive which was the nicely cooked breakfast. However, even that was tempered by lack of catering for diabetics/coeliacs. No natural unsweetened joghurt and no fresh fruit! Please spend your money wisely and do not waste your money here."

"Hotel name is not visible from the street. Parking on site was appreciated. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was 'open' but the cook was not there. After a while they reached her by phone and she would be there in 15 minutes, and was told to take our orders and I paid for two 'specials'. After arrival, the cook/owner(?) came out and chatted with several locals and then brought her dog out to visit with a guests dog. Later she came out with a hairnet on making me optimistic. We had an overnight flight and a long day to this point. One couple came out of the kitchen with full meals. We watched them eat and take home the leftovers. Keep in mind no one had ordered food before us. Next, another couple were served, and ate their food. Clearly they noticed we had been waiting longer. After a while my food came out. 10 or 15 minutes later, my friend was told the cook read the order wrong and was now going to remake her food. By now I was finished, the bartender offered my friend a glass of beer, same as we had on arrival. By then she was past it, we were tired, hungry and angry. Eventually she got her food, and ate alone. Our meals were not worth waiting ..and waiting for. We were there for hours. The cook coming out and apologizing would have been a nice gesture. The next night we went elsewhere for food."
