"Staff at reception wasn’t overly friendly. Pool is made to look a lot nicer and relaxing on the photos. There is also an extra £5 charge per person to use the pool which wasn’t specified on Expedia at time of booking. They waived the charge but it’s not worth the money unless you want your kids to let off steam. Great location and room was very good. "

"Nice hotel, great quality breakfast with cooked on demand options as well as buffet. Really Enjoyed the egg hollandaise on GF bread. The shower went from boiling hot to cold every few seconds which was not pleasant. And the 1st floor bedrooms came with a large shared terrace/ roof top and we were woken up by a child out on the terrace singing early morning. I wouldn’t stay on the 1st floor again but overall good hotel and good location. "

"Hotel is lovely and staff excellent but at least with room I stayed in it was very tired and needed updating. Paint was flaking off the walls, there was what looked like someone's foundation stains on the lamp shade and what looked like water marks/ stains on the walls. To note it can be quite noisy due to town centre location. I stayed mid week and was quite loud. "

"staff were lovely and friendly. The property was hard to find as the name on expedia and name on google maps are different. The room smelt of cigarettes. The mattresses weren’t comfy and everytime you moved the springs made a noise. We booked a room with a double bed and were given a room with three single beds. The entire property needs some major updates, the bathroom sink and bath were brown and the floor looked a bit grubby. "

"I recently stayed at this hotel for four days, and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. One of the biggest advantages is its location right in the city center. Everything you might need is within walking distance—pubs, cafés, restaurants, shopping stores, a shopping mall, bus stops, the railway station, museums, and even Cardiff Castle. It made exploring the area incredibly convenient and enjoyable. From the reception area to the rooms, cleanliness was clearly a top priority. Everything was spotless and had a fresh, pleasant fragrance, which immediately created a welcoming atmosphere. The rooms themselves were spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax after a day out. Housekeeping was consistent and reliable throughout our stay. Our room was cleaned every day, which added to the overall comfort and ease of staying there. The breakfast served each morning was really good, with a satisfying variety to choose from. Additionally, the hotel offers a kitchen menu, allowing guests to order food at other times, which is a great option for added convenience. Lastly, the staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. Their positive attitude contributed significantly to the overall experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay in the city."

"The staff at the front desk were fantastic even though they were so busy! The first room we were put it had an issue with the sealant on the shower glass - water flooded the bathroom. The staff moved us straightaway. However, both rooms were really run down. There were chips in the bathroom counter. There were marks on the walls. There was rust on the lamps. The mugs had stains. The towels were really crusty and had holes in them. Not really what I expect from a Novotel. I doubt I’d get holey towels in a Premier Inn! Would not stay again. "

"No fridge , no safe , no PowerPoint near bed side , no usb ports , felt like a motel disguised as a hotel . Rude staff. Interest to ask for trolley etc . Not allowed to go to carpark via resteraunt . Why walk all the way around with luggage makes no sense . Cardiff generally friendly city this was terrible ! Tv not working in one room as internet not working . No one cares . No one should stay here . "
