"It was my first time traveling to Portland and my no.1 priority was safety and I felt very secure and safe where I stayed I enjoyed the few days I stayed there and will love to come back to the same hotel in the future."

"First the good, and there was lots to like. The room was spacious and well appointed. The location was super walkable and charming. I had an awesome meal at the restaurant (The Tavern). My server was super sweet and attentive. The space I sat in was absolutely stunning and I can’t remember being so physically comfortable during a meal. Now the not great. The room was showing some wear. My room had an AC condensation leak running down the wall. A piece of art was in the path of the leak and it has clearly been leaking for a long time. There was a large bubble of paint on the wall filled with water. More than once I had to remove the toilet tank lid to either get the toilet to refill, or stop it from flushing itself over and over again. The aforementioned AC unit was not terribly effective cooling the room. It was fine overall. Let’s just say you will not be chilly in the room. And finally, and I hesitate to mention this, but when I asked about the possibility of a late checkout, I got a clearly rote response of “no, we have none available.” I expected this answer, just not delivered so… flippantly? I do appreciate that their checkout time is noon. I would stay here again, but I would arrive with lower expectations."

"The staff was super helpful and kind! I stayed here for a solo trip I took for my birthday to Oregon and the staff gave me a room upgrade and some snacks which was so kind! The rooms were very clean and the property was very clean as well. They also offer coffee and tea which was a really nice quick grab and go in the mornings."

"Got there early and was able to drop our bags off while the room was being prepared. They texted an hour early that the room was ready which was very convenient. Parking was fairly plentiful and free. Room was large - full fridge and stove was a great amenity option. In a cute part of Portland also - plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Would recommend!"

"The Economy Inn is one of several 1950s-era motels along Interstate Avenue that are still in business. Like most of them, it has had renovations in relatively recent history, and is reasonably clean and comfortable. It is right on the light rail line, so its easy to get places without a car. The parking lot is just big enough to accommodate all patrons, as long as they aren't driving a large motor home or other outsize vehicle. There are quite a few restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, etc., within easy walking distance (the vibrant Mississippi Street neighborhood is a 15-minute walk away, via the Failing Bridge pedestrian/bike crossing over I-5). Our room had a very comfortable king bed. The bathroom only had a shower, which wasn't an issue for us, but might be for some people. There was no hair dryer, which would have been a welcome addition. It was pretty quiet, even on a Friday night."
