"It was a last minute trip and it surprised us massively, beautiful estate, fantastic food and comfortable accommodation!"

"The hotel still looks great from the outside. The bar, lounges and reception looking modern and clean. But the room I had felt dated and in need of a fresh decoration. Wallpaper coming lose on the ceiling. Floorboards lose. Bathroom you could see sealant had been applied many times around the bath to stop leaks. I may be looking at the details to much, but newer hotels you do not see any repair jobs. Breakfast was great as well. Just needs some TLC in some of the bedrooms, to bring back to the high standard you expect from this hotel."

"The staff are lovely and the food is amazing. The lunchtime sharing boards are brilliant. We loved the location, especially the short walk along the canal into town. The only downside was the lack of a lift. I've been told to pack less for next time!!"
