"Pre-paid, but when I arrived I was told that the hotel was overbooked. The front desk sent me next door to their “sister property,” the 2-star Fairfield Inn. Might as well have been a Motel. Disgusting and dirty. And no price adjustment! The shower was dirty, the bed sheets had a drawing on them in black marker, and the room was generally dirty with what appeared to be blood on the wall. "

"The room wasn’t very clean. Dusty, dirty floors, trash under the bed, brown stained tub. But it was quiet, the staff was friendly, and the price was reasonable. We were helped quickly when we needed it, and left alone when we didn’t, and I was able to bring my puppy. The new kitchenette in the rooms are a nice addition to the remodel."

"We were hoping to have a relaxing girls' weekend, but it wasn't in the cards at this hotel. The room was lovely. The beds were comfy. The balcony, that we paid extra to have, was dirty with pollen so we could not really use it. I am familiar with pollen this time of the year, but it should have been cleaned for guests to use. In addition to the pollen covered furniture, there were also cobwebs on the chairs. I was really disappointed, because the weather was perfect for it! It didn't even face "historic Darien" as the description said. It was just the parking lot. The room was pretty warm and the a/c didn't seem to work. We ended up sleeping with the balcony door open since it was much cooler outside. That wasn't great because a wedding party was having a good time making noise outside till late in the night. In addition to that noise, our room was located by a housekeeping room and they kept letting the door shut loudly as they were in and out of it in the morning hours. On day two, we had to request a remote for the TV since we didn't have one in the room. The young man at reception brought it up very fast. On the plus side, the bathroom was spacious and the mirror was divine! The shower was huge with 2 showerheads, and the water warmed up super fast. The staff we encountered were all really nice. The food in the restaurant was delicious, but we did not receive our $25 food credit that was listed on Hotels.com site. Would we stay there again? Probably not. "
