"Room was clean despite housekeeping shortage the first weekend open for the season. Staff was awesome. It was great staying onsite at the National Park. The road to access it was slow, long, up a very old winding grade, but well worth the trip to the top. The lodge restaurant had excellent food and the breakfast buffet (not included) was amazing. It did not bother us, but the rooms are very basic, clean but older. There are no elevators. You are paying for the convenience and beauty of the location. Because of the location, we were able to get up early and visit General Sherman and other sites prior to the onslaught of tourists. Well worth it. "

"The property has become a bit crusty over the years. The 4th floor smelled like sewer, parts of the hallways were taped off and had a bad odor, and the elevator needs a deep cleaning."

The property is well maintained and in a great location when planning on spending time at Kings Canyon or Sequoia National Park. I will be returning! "
