"We were delighted by the old-fashioned charm of this hotel, which has surely survived despite all the odds in the current financial climate. We booked a 'superior' double room which turned out to be enormous, the only setback being that it was up 2 flights of stairs and the second of these had very narrow steps. However the room was lovely and so was the bathroom (which had a jacuzzi!) All was nice and clean. On one evening they had a carvery which was very popular and deservedly so. Breakfasts were 'continental' style, but plenty of choice. The bar is an old-fashioned gem."

"The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, such good value! We booked a table for 7pm at the pub, so pleased we did. The food was excellent, the two ladies worked very efficiently serving food & serving drinks. Hannah was friendly, or as my wife put it " such a lovely young lady"."
